Joshua has fought in packed houses in England for a few years now, bigger crowds every time. He's smart to stay there if he can... smart biz decision. Why rock the boat? Anyone who goes to England to fight him gets paid extremely well. Martin made 5 mil, Braziere too. And Wilder would make less than half as much fighting Joshua in Alabama, or even Vegas. Parker would come to England, so would Ortiz... probably all top HWs with the money as good as it is there. Very few fighters get life-changing money anyway, and a boxing career at the top is less than 10 years on average. I have no issue with boxers making the most they can make, just so they aren't ducking the toughest fights.

Seems like they want Joshua to do all the hardwork before coming to America. Get the titles, meanwhile we'll have Wilder fight a string of bums. Then Joshua can come to the US, we'll stick it on free TV, be watched by millions and Wilder becomes an instant star. Soon as DiBella mentioned free TV, no PPV, you knew they wouldn't go to fight in the US, shot himself in the foot with that back and forth with Hearn.

The US needs to up it's game. Awful PPV numbers and arenas with empty seats prove that. The UK doesn't have either of those problems so, why travel?

As I've been saying all along, if you're a heavyweight and you want to be known, the US is no longer necessary. Europe is the home of the division.

Fair point to be honest. He's got US investment despite never fighting there.

Showtime and HBO has only worked together for 3 fights.. May/Pac Tyson/Lewis and now this fight.

But AJ has been able to get this interests from us networks despite never fighting there.

I would like him to fight there though.

If he becomes the fighter people think he might be then he should definitely fight in the US. And Japan. And Africa. Europe. Everywhere.

There was a time when this was normal for the top boxers to travel the world and showcase your talents to different audiences.
