When your only weapon is your battling head ram then you don't deserve to get big fights. And the REF??? He kept getting in the middle of the fight and resetting Porter up to charge head first again. Not 1 time did he warn Porter??? When you have to keep saying accidental headbutt and the doctors keep looking at BOTH boxers cuts?? I WAS like WTF??? At least warn him...

Well-said. At a certain point, it's beyond accidental and is the product of recklessness.

Wasn't even just ramming. It was using the head to position him, pin him while he punched, up against his chin, etc. If it was part of a toolbox of both clean and dirty techniques, he might get away with it and be called "crafty". But, that's all he had was ramming and grinding.

I'm not down with that bullshyt where the truth hides behind a popularity contest. I don't have to like a fighter in order to stand up for him. I also don't have to hate one to criticize him.

I would gladly bet Porter would beat Peterson. I get what you say about Porter, his style it's very ugly but very effective for him. That would be the case against Peterson. Peterson can box great but I think Porter bullies him and gets a stoppage same as he did Berto.

I may be the only one who liked Porter tonight. I almost fell asleep during the Mayweather/Berto fight...and found this pretty entertaining.

I like the fact that Porter compensates his shortfalls in skills with raw endless aggression and makes it work for him. I agree with the reckless statements and think that's just his bull in the china shop style. He's as much a victim of his own reckless headbutts as his opponents...he cut both his own eyes so I don't know how intentional any of it was. He is great shape to keep up that level of aggression all night. It's not a style that I generally like but I always find him exciting to watch. His punches were pretty accurate tonight and he broke down Berto's body relentlessly. I think in the rematch he will give Thurman a harder time and I'm looking forward to it.

Porter is clearly top 5-6 in welterweight division, he can fight Thurman next or Brook - Spence winner or Garcia or Peterson, these are all great fights for him.

Berto should rematch Soto Karass or Collazo.

I like Porter willingness to fight anyone, therefore I respect him for that. However, I don't necessarily appreciate his style but this had to be the worst in terms of headbutts in recent times. I know, he has shown a pretty solid chin so far but someday he'll get timed coming in leaning forward with a vicious uppercut Charlo vs Williams style although his pressure is kind of hard to "time" actually.
