Comments Thread For: BJ Flores May Land on Briggs-Oquendo, Povetkin Possible for July 2

Former cruiserweight contender BJ Flores (33-3-1) began the second phase of his career as a heavyweight in February when he destroyed Jeremy Bates in the first round of their main event fight. Flores dropped Bates 3 times with a nice combination of body and head punches, much to the delight of the 2300 cheering hometown fans at the sold out Celebrity Theatre in Phoenix.

Flores should fight on the Briggs undercard and see if he can play that into a shot at the winner of that fight. If he goes to Russia to face a roided up Povetkin, he could be killed in the ring

Every time I see this guys name it makes me sick.

I wish Povetkin wasn't permitted to fight anywhere until his suspension is lifted and he's paid for his actions.

Flores is probably going to take the Povetkin fight in Russia. I'm sure he would make a lot more money there as the headlining opponent then he would get on the undercard of Briggs/Oquendo. If he fights on undercard I doubt it's a ranked opponent because the event purses are not going to be big. He would probably get 6 digits fighting Povetkin in Russia.

At 225 Flores may be able to beat a few decent HWs in the C level range. It's a massive step up in class going from fighting Jeremy "Master" Bates to Povetkin...

Appreciate the comments both good and bad. Everyone entitled to their own opinion. The last Fight was offered to 11 other fighters 8 of them undefeated. All declined. So you can only fight who will accept for the budget of the show. Looking for a BIG step up on next one BJ Flores

If a move to heavyweight doesn't work out, BJ is still a skilled commentator.

We need more like him behind the microphone.
