And by the way almost sure that cotto was ranked higher p4p than anyone on gggs resume... he could lose to jacobs just because jacobs is a mw and cotto is a jmw, but p4p the cotto that fought canelo was ranked higher by most respected analysts... but again canelo has more challenges, not just cotto...

None of these guys was sniffing a P4P list recently. Cotto hasn't been close since he left WW. Beating a bum (rodriguez) and 2 shot guys at catchweights (Maravilla after Jr & Geale after Golovkin) are not P4P performances.

Golovkin has been trying to get Froch, Ward, Jr, Floyd, Canelo, Cotto, Martinez etc into the ring with him. He fought other guys when those opponents declined the fight. Golden Boy and Canelo have been ACTIVELY picking ****ty opposition. Which brings me to the kicker:

The last 5 opponents that Golovkin was stuck with were better than the 5 opponents Canelo's team chose.


I know you like Canelo and all, but even to his fan the **** Golden Boy is doing has got to be infuriating, and the fact that Canelo is parroting it is just disappointing.

Cotto is a name, not a quality of a fighter. He's retiring this year. I'd bet that all of Golovkin's last 5, excluding Wade, would beat this version of Cotto.

And yes, I'm well aware that Golovkin will never win the resume argument in total, since he's a foreigner who is not British or Mexican, and that he had a long amateur career. Sauderland wasting his career in late 20s didn't help him.

The point is that Golovkin is trying, and is succeeding at fighting better competition, with the only thing that's holding him back is opponent's lack of desire to share the ring with him.
Canelo, or rather GBP, could have had Canelo's resume littered with quality names, instead the quality of competition that Canelo is fighting is decreasing if anything.

Every boxer's journey is different.

avoiding Lara, Mora, Ward, Cotto, Canelo, and now Saunders..... to fight Wade/Brook..... is hardly setting the world on fire, is it?
