Crawford is not a WW either, but that fight can still be made next year if he chooses to move up. He says he wants the fight but meanwhile he is fighting Molina and Diaz. We'll see.

Getting a fight with Thurman means negotiating with Haymon. It can be done, but Thurman is setting his sights on winner of Brook/Spence.

Pac tried getting fights with D. Garcia and Broner, but they turned down $4M+ each. Danny Garcia would rather fight Thurman for $2M than Pac for $4M, that speaks volumes.
    you didn't answer the question.

Wouldn't you as a boxing fan prefer to see Manny fight Thurman, Brook, Spence or Crawford rather than Mikey right now?

Ok. I would rather see him fight the WW's so the division can get sorted out. If he were to drop the ww title and drop down to 140, I'd rather see Crawford/manny then Mikey/Manny right now.

I did answer the question--they all have other fights coming up in 2017. By the time the winner of Brook/Spence get around to fighting Thurman, the year will be over. Crawford has Diaz and then who knows what his intentions are afterward. Let him get past Diaz first, which is no sure thing.

A fight with M. Garcia is not a garbage fight, nor is it an easy win for Pac. Mikey can box and move, and there will be no size advantage for Pac as you conveniently ignored in my opening sentence.

Yes and no. The better way to explain it is a cash grab/cherry pick since he nor any of us know who Horn is.

Yes, he has earned the right to fight who he wants. That said he is the WBO champ and he should fight one of the other champs so the division can get sorted out.

That or he could fight Crawford since the WBO allows the champ in the division below to fight for the title in the class above.

I didn't ask what was on their calendar, I asked which do you as a fan prefer. You didn't answer that. Check Bronx2245's response. he answered.

Of course there is a size advantage. Garcia has never fought at WW. you have no idea if his power will come with him. manny would be bringing him up 2 weight classes, the same thing you criticized Floyd for doing with JMM.

The fight is garbage because there are much better ww opponents he could fight. It feels like he is avoiding the top ww's.

The ironic thing is Mikey's best options are at Top Rank. Fight Loma in the summer then jump up and fight Manny in the fall. Then in 2018 he can fight Tim Bradley who Mikey is much taller than and Crawford when he moves to 147.

All three of those welters started at lower weight classes and aren't so much naturally bigger than him like Thurman, Spence, Brook, etc

How are there much better opponents available when their dance cards are full? My opinion of which fight is better has no impact on the sport. The FACTS are that the fighters you mentioned all have commitments and there are no guarantees they can or will make a fight with Pac. If Mikey is willing, then why not? Pac came up from Flyweight, and walks around smaller than Mikey. Garcia has had the luxury of draining himself down to fight smaller guys for most of his career. That is Robert Garcia's M.O. for training his fighters, drain them down two or three weight classes and come in heavy on fight night.
