Comments Thread For: Otto Wallin is Very Eager To Impress His Fans in Sundsvall

Swedish heavyweight hope Otto Wallin (17-0, 11 KOs) headlines his hometown arena with a WBA Continental Heavyweight title fight against Italian Champion Gianluca Mandras (12-4, 5 KOs) on April 22 at the Sporthallen in Sundsvall. Wallin left Sundvsall in 2013 to pursue his dream of becoming heavyweight champion of the world, moving to Germany after signing professional terms with Europe's leading boxing promoter Team Sauerland, before relocating to Copenhagen to join forces with renowned American coach Joey Gamache.

Another easy opponent for Wallin, he's being handled too delicately imo. After this fight, his teams needs to push him up to real Euro level. Gregory Tony, Ivica Bacurin, Salvatorre Erittu, Marcin Rekowski are the guys he needs to be fighting.

This is the only guy you mentioned I would consider Euro-Level. I was thinking more along the lines of Herve Hubeaux, Agit Kabayal, Rudenko or Zimnoch. Rekowski would be good too. He needs to step up for sure...

Yeah, Tony is probably past it at this point. I was trying to be a bit conservative because with the competition Wallin has faced so far I'm not sure he beats Rudenko or Zimnoch and I definitely don't think he beats Kabayel. Hubeaux would be a solid choice. Bacurin is at least a durable guy that was just in a close fight with Schwarz, who is at a similar level to Wallin but has been tested a bit more. We agree that he definitely needs to start advancing after this though.

2 other guys that come to mind are Franz Rill & Timur Stark. Both decent journeymen fighters who have been in some good fights.

Yes! I thought about both as well. A lot of good guys at Euro level for these European prospects to fight, yet Wallin has been messing around with the likes of Zumbano Love and Machimana. Disappointing...

Zumbano Love cracks me up. The guy seems to hang around every fight. He is actually pretty durable & he is so awkward. He looks like a guy who is just waiting to get beat up but some how manages to go rounds. I've seen him take a few good beatings. He can be difficult to hit cleanly.

Wallin VS Kabayal makes sense within the next few months!
