Matthysse's an underrated boxer and I think he has a chance against anyone willing to punch with him, the Postols and Crawfords are the stylistic nightmares. And as for the power thing, Judah, Alexander, Corley, Bradley (in sparring) and Provodnikov have claimed Lucas as the hardest puncher they've faced and their opponents include: Cotto, Maidana and Provo among others.

First Lucas not only has to win but has to look impressive versus Taylor, and that won't be an easy task.

Second if he does win Golden Boy will not rush him back and put pressure like they did before.

I think Herrera would be the mostly likely name next the biggest realistic name would be a Jessie Vargas.

Unless they put Lucas versus an in house fight like Sadam Ali or Frankie Gomez (assuming he actually still boxes), but any legit Top 10 guy not yet Lucas.

Lucas needs to stay focused and win his fight in may first. I don't think Taylor is an automatic win at all. Taylor gave broner all kinds of problems that fight was dead even heading into the 12th. Taylor is a real opponent especially coming off the eye injury and long layoff. If lucas aint right physically and doesnt have the same hunger he will get beat. If he wins he has a lot of options because he has an exciting style and fans will want to see him with any of the top guys.

Thats the best choice Lucas has made, otherwise we would have seen pure mismatches. Look at Gary Russell, Austin Trout, Omar Figueroa, Lara with its weak as fights. Khan was offer to Golden Boy, Chavez Jr offer to Golden Boy, Jacobs to K2 promotions, John Molina to Top rank, Diaz to Top rank. Haymon boxers going back to HBO where the real money is at.

Yeah this fight would be perfect for both guys. Broner has problem making 140 lucas moving from 140 would be like broner vs maidana 2. Another fight I'd like to see for lucas is khan. Or bradley who has been out of the ring a long time too.

Matthysse has no business fighting at 147, he is too small, should stay at 140 and fight Broner.

Yeah he is kinda short but he's 5'6 1/2, Broner is only 5'6. he's slightly taller. Broner is the perfect fight and if it's at 147 they both make weight comfortably. Lucas should target smaller guys who also have a history at 140 and moved up to 147. Broner, khan, bradley, rematch garcia. rematch peterson. if he beat postol arum wanted to make Lucas vs Pacquiao. Manny is only 5'5 1/2. That would be a fun scrap.
