Comments Thread For: Lucas Matthysse Wants Keith Thurman or Danny Garcia

Dangerous puncher Lucas Matthysse (37-4, 34 KOs) wants to land a big fight in the fall. Matthysse is scheduled to return to the ring on May 6 in Las Vegas, when he faces against Emanuel Taylor at the T-Mobile Arena. After years of competing as a junior welterweight, Matthysse is heading up to the welterweight division. Matthysse vs. Taylor will be part of the HBO Pay-Per-View undercard to the all-Mexican battle between Canelo Alvarez and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

Yeah he could have feasted on nobodies and made decent money while his rep takes hits to the point where he is as relevant as Stevenson is at LHW

You mean like the nobodies he's calling out now? His rep already took a hit and he's making less. He fought Provikinov, Garcia and Petersen when he was with Haymon. Let me guess they are "nobodies" because they ain't European or fight on HBO? And who is he fighting next on HBO? Lmao

Thats the best choice Lucas has made, otherwise we would have seen pure mismatches. Look at Gary Russell, Austin Trout, Omar Figueroa, Lara with its weak as fights. Khan was offer to Golden Boy, Chavez Jr offer to Golden Boy, Jacobs to K2 promotions, John Molina to Top rank, Diaz to Top rank. Haymon boxers going back to HBO where the real money is at.
