Anyway, everything I said is true. And as for Ward, he is not being held back from anything because he's black. It's because he is a boring fighter. You got Crawford selling out Omaha, Nebraska every time he fights. Ward can't sell out in Oakland with tickets being given away.
Right on the money! Crawford is putting 12K asses in seats in the middle of cornfields, Ward can barely break 8K sales in a major city in his home town. Crawford is thrashing opponents while Ward is clinching and running from them with decision victories over slow brawlers.

Sorry, Ward. You were dropped early in the fight and eked out a close victory on the judges cards.

Just because you faced some adversity for the first time in your career, does not make it an epic comeback.
he want people to see it as a corrales-castillo kinda comeback lol

Just like I thought....you're hard up on WARd and won't acknowledge his accomplishments anyway... You're a decent poster as long as ward isn't involved

        Logic goes out the window

Am I lying? I told you, I like Ward as a person outside of the ring. But inside the ring I find him to be dull and slightly overrated. I acknowledge he is a very skillful fighter, but he's only been in there with the same style fighters for most of his career. You think I have an agenda here but I don't. I'm not the one getting emotional over him.

Yeah bevause Black Americans would support a white American over a Cuban, Haitian or Jamaican black athlete. Give me a ***ing break!

When have black Americans ever cheered for someone non black???

Ward gets no support because he does not have a fan friendly style, takes long breaks, doesn't have alot of controversy surrounding him, is not "flashy".

Even black fans don't support black fighters unless they throw money around, hang out with rappers, go to strip clubs, act ****y..

***ing Blacks and their victim mentality. Slavery is over. Get the *** over it you sensitive cry babies

            • The public's perception of Ward was created through his personality and ring style; any professional impediments he's experienced by career choices.

Racism has been a factor in boxing and it's still not insignificant, but where's the evidence indicating that he's been adversely affected by it?

No. That was pointer towards something real that you might have over looked. I don't know why people get all agitated whenever Andre Ward says something. Its not cause he's arrogant. Its not cause he's "half irish" as a lot of what I'm assuming are white dudes on here seem to like say on here. And the fact that this whole half irish thing is often said lets us know that race is an issue with a lot of people's perception of Andre Ward. Its not cause he took 3 and half years off and expected to come back to a parade cause those kinds of exaggerated depictions just show a bit of bias and unwarranted disdain. And Ward is not the first top fighter to have a long layoff and not the only current one by the way. Its not cause he's a dirty fighter cause once again the exaggerated depiction implies bias. I don't know what your reasoning is but to deny that race could possibly play a role in the way he is depicted by the media and disparaged by some od the fans is to be in a sort of denial that has its own implications...

Look I respect Andre and his abilities, always have. I am not exactly a fan of his resume in its entirety but i've always paid him his respect. I do think the new version of Ward is a bit too ****y for his own good and I can understand he feels slighted over having to go through litigation. Aside from his personality rubbing me the wrong way I don't have anything against Ward just fans and how they shhh on other boxers to propel him.

he came back and won when most guys would have packed it in or remained in survival mode.

Could you provide examples of how the media has depicted Ward adversely due to race and therefore affected his career? Please remember I've already acknowledged that racism exists in boxing but I'm more keen on how it has been a detriment to Ward specifically.
