Sorry, Ward. You were dropped early in the fight and eked out a close victory on the judges cards.
Just because you faced some adversity for the first time in your career, does not make it an epic comeback.

When have black Americans ever cheered for someone non black???
Ward gets no support because he does not have a fan friendly style, takes long breaks, doesn't have alot of controversy surrounding him, is not "flashy".
Even black fans don't support black fighters unless they throw money around, hang out with rappers, go to strip clubs, act ****y..
***ing Blacks and their victim mentality. Slavery is over. Get the *** over it you sensitive cry babies

The public's perception of Ward was created through his personality and ring style; any professional impediments he's experienced by career choices.
Racism has been a factor in boxing and it's still not insignificant, but where's the evidence indicating that he's been adversely affected by it?

Its not cause he's arrogant. Its not cause he's "half irish" as a lot of what I'm assuming are white dudes on here seem to like say on here. And the fact that this whole half irish thing is often said lets us know that race is an issue with a lot of people's perception of Andre Ward. Its not cause he took 3 and half years off and expected to come back to a parade cause those kinds of exaggerated depictions just show a bit of bias and unwarranted disdain. And Ward is not the first top fighter to have a long layoff and not the only current one by the way. Its not cause he's a dirty fighter cause once again the exaggerated depiction implies bias. I don't know what your reasoning is but to deny that race could possibly play a role in the way he is depicted by the media and disparaged by some od the fans is to be in a sort of denial that has its own implications...
