Saying he couldn't is an overstatement. Just because he couldn't keep the fight where he wanted it for every second of every round doesn't = couldn't. That would be like saying ward wanted to be inside the whole time, but couldn't cuz kovalev was keeping him at range. The trajectory of the fight went more in ward's favor late compared to early...but even those rounds were reasonably close. People need to stop acting like ward definitively took control of the fight...yea it was starting to go his way, especially in comparison to the first part, but the rounds were still close.

Kovalev does not keep it quiet. What about all of the times he's called people pieces of ***** and the racist comments? What about the time he had his son wear a shirt that had the face of a chimpanzee on to the body of Adonis Stevenson. I wouldn't call it going against the grain because a lot of people seem to be quite entertained and even agree with the trash and derogatory statements that he makes. But he definitely doesn't keep it quiet.

It's not color. He's a great technical fighter. he wins and he's boring and has NO charisma. Hearns or Hagler made big money and headlines because they took people's heads off. We loved them for who they were and how they fought. Not boring. Even Hearns had no star charisma outside the ring but man did he have it when he fought. I'm tired of the race thing.

if he could have, he would have won more rounds between 6-12

                just saying

he started strong, Faded, ward imposed his will and got inside his reach instead of fight at Kov's best range

you think one thing, i think another. i had Kovalev winning rounds 9 and 10 in the second half, so to me he didn't do bad. he did ok. ward did not win 6 rounds in a row, it just didn't happen. but whatever i mean, to you (and your alts and other trolls) ward took over after the second and completly dominated kovalev so, why argue? history has already be rewritten

Well obviously both guys would have won more rounds if they could. Ward got inside more as the fight wore on, but kovalev was still having success at range. Neither guy was really able to take control of the fight...i feel there is a real opportunity for whoever can push the pace more in the rematch.
