Comments Thread For: Andre Berto: People Have Written Me Off Since My First Loss

Andre Berto isn't bothered by the skeptics' perception of him. The former WBC welterweight champion thinks fans and media began dismissing him six years ago, when he suffered his first defeat. It has been an uphill struggle for respect, according to Berto, since Victor Ortiz dropped him twice and overcame two knockdowns to win a unanimous decision and took Berto's welterweight title in April 2011.

Guy went life and death with Josesito Lopez and Soto-Karass, lost to SK. Maybe he forgot already.

C level fighter, but a funny guy. Beat Zaveck by a headbutt, clearly lost against Collazo, lost against Ortiz, Guerrero, Soto Karass. Best win: Quintana.

          Anyway, I like watching him.

Berto-Ortiz was FOTY wasn't it? I'm not going to write a fighter off if they lose in a FOTY. Losing back to back fights against opponents you should have beaten is a different story though.

Looking back its weird to see that pre-Ortiz Andre was hyped up to be the next Manny Pacuaio opponent

you losing to c level fighters sure isn't helping your case berto. berto was always a hype job. porter is going to steam roll him.

Call me crazy but if Berto comes in the shape he was in when he faced Maywheather, we could be in for a really good fight!
