This is getting tedious very fast! Duva & co are acting like this was the worst robbery in boxing history. It wasn't. It was a close fight that could've gone both ways. Only Kovalev - and of course Ward - is to blame for his loss. Ward adjusted, Kovalev couldn't and that was that.
Kovalev, Duva and Jackson should concentrate on correcting the mistakes and prepare better instead of using energy on talking smack. Talking smack doesn't win you fights.

Suck it up and do it better in the rematch.

From what we read this fight wasn't a huge success. Both fighters deserve to get paid well so they do need to indulge in a little hype.

Well Kovalev does. Ward has never been remotely interested in selling any fight it seems. Which he could - he's quite interesting when he actually does get talking.

S'alright, man. And yeah, this fight could definitely use some selling - which is a shame given that for the enthusiasts it's still about the biggest fight there is. This is what I said said they shoulda done for the first fight - build Kovalev as the badass crazy Russian dude (which, frankly, doesn't take a marketing genius) and Ward as the American hero. Hell, show reruns of Rocky IV in the build up if that's what it takes.

I'm glad both camps are poking fun at each other, but you can legitimately tell that Kovalev has no respect for Ward for claiming that he won the first fight. Kovalev is pissed. He's going to take it all out on Ward in the ring.

Lmao. Kovalev got Virgil there. Look at Ward's face a few seconds after Kovalev turned to him and said he would end Ward's career. You can tell Ward is shook a little. Kovalev is definitely in his head. You can see the concern all over his face.



You can tell when someone is intimidated when you see it. No matter what they say publicly, no matter what they even tell themselves privately, the face doesn't lie. Kovalev is in Ward's head. This could end very badly for Ward. I worry about his long term health. You can't go into a fight against someone like Kovalev with all those thoughts and emotions going through your mind.

There is a lot of wishful thinking going on in this post.

I am not really a Ward fan (he uses tricky tactics similar to Floyd), but Kovalev sounds ridiculous honestly.

Instead of talking, he should have KO'd Ward. That way there would be no argument whatsoever. But if it is a close fight, where one is the dangerous guy who can't really connect and the other is the super-tricky guy who is not that dangerous but does connect a little more, well, there you have it.

Next time, if there's a next time, MAKE SURE TO KO WARD, instead of crying robbery. You fight a close fight in the US, you will not get the decision, period!
