Puerto Rico needs someone to come along and take the torch from Cotto. Too many failed prospects over the years. I had faith in Verdejo until last year. Any young prospects to look out for? I know about Machado, I'm keeping an eye on him. I know a kid that just started his pro career he signed with Top Rank, kid is from Pennsylvania. Joseph "Blessed Hands" Adorno, he's being trained by his father and Robert Garcia. I don't know of any other prospects though?

Angel Acosta will be fighting Kosei Tanaka for the 108 lbs WBO world title in May. He's KO'D everybody he's faced and trains at the same gym as Machado.

Manny Rodriguez will fight for a world title next against Haskins this summer, he should beat him easily.

As bad as Verdejo has looked he can still beat Flanagan IMO.

Flanagan might be too much Verdejo, Kid hasn't shown much of anything so it's hard to decide.

That Angel Acosta-Kosei Tanaka fight I heard was made when Cotto met up with Teiken Promotions and that was when they spoke of matching their fighter Yoshihiro Kamegai with Miguel Cotto in June. We'll see what the latest word is on that fight.

I give Flanagan the edge to win, especially in the UK.

Wee will have 3 chances early this year for a belt, Acosta, Rodriguez and Verdejo all three with a great chance to become champions. So after all is not that bad for our boxing (PR). We got Subriel Matias, Alberto Machado, Pitufo Diaz with great pontencial to dispute a championship soon as 2017-2018..

A Walters who was inactive for a year. It would have been a better win if Walters had been active like Loma was.

Out of all those 3, Russell was the only good win. Yes they were all champions but Martinez wasn't nothing special, never beat any great fighters and was done, especially after his fights with Salido and being KOd before by Garcia. Walters hadn't fought in a year, people fail to mention that. The Walters win could have been better if Walters was active. Even Russel who is highly regarded had fought nothing but TBA and has one credible win over and older Johnny Gonzalez. Loma has the goods but he needs to continue to prove it against elite fighters who are active and in their prime.
