Comments Thread For: Felix Verdejo Focusing in on Terry Flanagan Title Shot Next

Puerto Rican Olympian Felix 'El Diamante' Verdejo is focused on securing his mandatory world title shot against WBO lightweight king Terry Flanagan. This past Saturday night, Flanagan retained his 135-pound WBO crown by beating top rated contender Petr Petrov on a unanimous decision. The handlers behind the undefeated Puerto Rican fighter are confident that the WBO leaders will give way to the mandatory fight against Flanagan (33-0, 13 KO's). The tentative date is June 10 at Madison Square Garden in New York.

If it's up to Bob, Loma would face Salido in a rematch and Verdejo would face Flanagan.

Flanagan isn't leaving Manchester. Verdejo better put his traveling shoes on.

..You're absolutely right, more money too. The only reason the WBO kept Verdejo atop the rankings is because they're headquarters is in San Juan, and right now, we/Puerto Rico so desperately need a World Champion..I'm just calling it like I know it...fcukin' hype-job...Pedraza or Machado can both knock Verdejo out, and Rocky Martnez will school his young ass, but they can't get no break...
