The light heavyweight champion dismissed conjecture that he threatened to retire merely to gain leverage before signing a contract for his rematch with Sergey Kovalev. One of the most underappreciated fighters of all time, HOF worthy.

He's right when he says he's got nothing left to prove, he's beaten the very best, never ducked anybody. What does he get for it? Hate. He doesn't even have to rematch Kovalev, but he's doing it anyways, some fighters like Jacobs never get rematches.

I've seen multiple fighters ranked ahead in people's P4P rankings throughout the years, Bute, Golovkin, Lomachenko etc. no matter what he does they act like they have amnesia and prop someone else up.

I tried to tell y'all yesterday before this even came out, and people criticized me, but Kovalev is clearly in Ward's head. Now Ward admits Kovalev got to him, and it was Kovalev's trash talk that had something to do with Ward deciding to come back. That tells you Ward knows deep down he didn't win the first fight, and Kovalev continually reminding him of that got to him because he knows it's true, even if he won't admit it to himself.

Turns out, Kovalev knows how to play mind games too. Can't wait until June 17!

I understand he's a great fighter but if you get in those really close fighs you gotta avenge it. Same goes for Golovkin and should've been for Gonzalez if Mr. Headbutts didn't come in.
