LOL, doesn't surprise me. I guess he's entitled to a "stay busy" fight before a rematch with Thurman. It sells out Barclay's anyway. He better hope Keith beats winner of Brook/Spence, otherwise Danny will get crushed.

Broner had to somewhat start from scratch. Guerrero been trying to grab a belt but imo those days are over especially at 147... Berto and Porter have to make-do to get a title shot. So I'd imagine Haymon has to enforce it for Garcia. It's up to Thurman is he wants to give Garcia a rematch.
If Garcia can get Collazo out sooner then perhaps more pressure is on Thurman, even tough he already beat Garcia or Bundu before others..
I don't mind the fight. I actually like Collazo, a lot. He is one of those guys that has put in his work and I like to see those guys get a payday or two towards the end of their careers. They have been trying to make him a gatekeeper for years now, but he just won't go quitely into the night. Hell I think he will give Danny a competitive fight. Granted Collazo is past his best, but the only two times I've really seen him beaten easily were against Khan and Mosley, but Danny fights nothing like them. So I think he will give a good account of himself, the guy always shows up to fight.
i'd expect an opponent like that even if danny won
as long as danny doesn't fight another rod salka i'm not going to cry about the guy taking a tune up after a loss against a pretty good puncher. the only reason to make a thread about this is to laugh at garcia's choice of opponent in the past. he's fought some legit no hopers. shot malignaggi coming off of a knockout loss to shawn porter. rod salka, a lightweight not even in the top 50 is one of the worst matchups that has ever made it to premium TV. showtime costs money
