Oh by the way, Berto fought Victor Ortiz before Collazo did.

But yeah, I don't see anything wrong with this match up, particularly after coming off a loss as Garcia is. If a fight against Khan or Broner or something can't be made then yeah Collazo is cool.

I'm just saying, Collazo went 12 with Hatton, robbery doe!? Went 12 with Mosley. Went 12 with Berto! Khan, 12!

dude was battle tested. deserves a shot with Garcia. More importantly for the BK fans!

I thought I heard Broner was offered the Collazo fight?

Chinny guy Khan got caught, kayoed past prime Morales twice, and that's about it. He struggled with almost everyone he fought. So I don't really mind who Swift fights next.

It's not like he's some killer. There's still Berto for him, Broner, Collazo, Chaves, Vargas, Porter, even Bundu will do. Lots and lots of fights waiting for him still.

Seems like a great scrap for PR East Coast heads. Barclays Slam it on Fox or Spike. =)
If we end up with Garcia-Collazo, from Barclays Center, late in the summer, you could end up with a sold out building and Showtime possibly looking to broadcast the fight

Didn't even think of Bundu. Wouldn't mind watching Bundu vs Collazo!! But even with that they'd discredit Luis if he were to beat Bundu. Brooklyn boxing apparel should setup camp at the Barclays for Collazo vs Garcia

I hear your case for Collazo and I agree. It reminds me a little bit of the proposed Cotto-Kamegai fight. A lot of people are bashing it but let's say if it was Cotto vs Berto instead I'm sure they would be good with that.

But check out common opponents. Robert Guerrero vs Berto, we all saw what happened to Berto and how he looked at the end of the fight. Guerrero vs Kamegai, look at how Guerrero's face was lumped up, particularly his left eye. Berto vs Soto-Karass, Berto was knocked out. Kamegai vs Soto-Karass, Kamegai knocked Soto-Karass out.

So imo under the circumstances, Kamegai is definitely a worthy opponent for Cotto as a replacement for James Kirkland. And Collazo is a worthy opponent for Garcia after his loss to Thurman.

I don't think it is competitive at all. I think we might see a Matthysse rematch at 147 before the year is up. Danny wins that by a wide margin, maybe even stoppage. I can't see Danny putting himself at risk for a loss before he gets a shot at a rematch with Thurman, so it wouldn't surprise me if he took a fight with Collazo. He was willing to risk it all versus Salka so who knows, lol.
