Dam Krusher, the report coming out of Russia, was that you didn't train properly because you were being pulled in many directions, you had to worry about family and friends and ticket situations........ WARD is gonna beat the brakes off this cat, Krusher is all over the place and he is an undisciplined athlete

He was lucky that the ref allowed him to hold so much in that fight. Wards team just need to cause a scene before the fight about Kovalevs clinching tactics on the inside and Ward will rip him shred.

Boxing News 24
“Filter everything that I need and dump everything that I don’t need,” said Kovalev. ”Maybe add someone into my team. I’ve already started the talks with some of the specialists whom give me advice, whom might be useful for me and the career ahead. It’s going to be like a second breath,” said Kovalev.
Jackson is still with Kovalev right now, but it’s going to be interesting to see if he’s still there when the rematch takes place against Ward in 2017. With Kovalev talking about not wanting to “dump everything that I don’t need,” it suggests that he might be kicking around the idea of changing his training team.
“I’ve never used practices and tactics of U.S coaches,” said Kovalev. ”If I got to be honest, they’re all zeroes over there. Some think about them like they’re the best. These some are wrong,” said Kovalev.
Kovalev is talking about the U.S boxing coaches, and yet he’s still being trained by a U.S coach in John David Jackson. What does this mean? Is Kovalev going to keep Jackson or simply add the Russian coach Khromov to the team if he accepts the offer to work alongside his U.S coach?

I think Kovalev's stubbornness is getting the better of him. He left Abel Sanchez because he wouldn't do what Abel told him to do. He spent ages adjusting to JDJ because he didn't want to do what JDJ told him to do. Now, by the looks of it, he wants to pull Beibut Shumenov and be a trainer and a fighter - spend his 1 min break sitting on the stool in silence. He won't beat Ward like that....
Hopefully by now Klimas and Duva have made their money back and Kovalev is free to do as he pleases - make way for Gvozdeek.Last edited by observer; 04-11-2017, 09:06 AM.

I dont understand how a veteran of the game like Kovalev can overtrain when literally nothing changes for him physically. Its his weight class, fighting a smaller and physically weaker opponent.
Yes I know its the toughest fight of his life. That doesnt mean his training camp should be any different. He should do what he has always done IMHO.
