They could've requested an extension to negotiate but they didn't because they didn't want the fight. And yeah, Canelo needed to fight at 155 so much that he's now moving up to fight at 164.5. Canelo has real good upper-body movement, excellent ringIQ, and excellent defence..... that will be a different kind of fight..... and don't expect Golovkin to have the same kind of latitude either, as Canelo will give him different problems and different looks again

I actually think Canelo will keep Golovkin much more honest than Jacobs did

He has no mobility. Sure he can duck some punches but he's a tank and tanks require a lot of fuel to operate. He has a HUGE mid-section for GGG to target. Khan laid plenty of leather on him, Smith laid plenty of leather on him, Cotto laid plenty of leather on him.

In any case, this Chavez fight is going to monkey wrench GBP's plans. That cherry wasn't quite ripe yet.

your love for Canelo over rides your perspective as a boxing fan. I'm not a fan of either. I've rooted for against against both of them and the truth is this fight hasn't happened because Oscar was scared to see Canelo lose since 90% of his top fighters were stolen from under his nose by Haymon. Ggg never wanted to fight ward but to say him not fighting cotto and Saunders yet is because of him is ridiculous. Cotto preferred the bigger money fight with Canelo and Saunders has flat out said in the past that he wasn't ready for ggg. Now he wants to fight in June but as Oscar said, he'd take the Canelo fight away if they fought in another attempt to drag this out. As far as ppv sales, you should be more sensible and know that ppv buys are based on the demand for the fight. This fight will do a Mil at Keats based on demand. Ggg may not do great ppv bunkers now but neither did Floyd or pac until Oscar fought them. Because the demand for those fights were big. And let's not forget that Canelo only sold 290k in his last ppv so it's not like he can pull Floyd or Manny power moves. If you listen to max Kellerman, Jim lampley, (who actually work for the company that backs Canelo) and every other press member, boxer, trainer speak, they all say that Canelo and his team are the reasons why this fight hasn't happened. Even Chavez Jr who is scheduled to fight Canelo has flat out said that Canelo has avoided ggg and picked him because he perceived him as the easier fight. Listen, I know it must be hard for you as a fan to acknowledge that your favorite fighter in the history of your life has flat out ducked a fight. It makes him look bad and makes you as a fan look bad because you probably have been defending him for yrs. You can rationalize it as a money reason, you can try and flip it by saying ggg priced himself out but everybody knows that golden boy never gave ggg an offer to fight Canelo in his next fight. They make an offer over a yr in advance of when they want to fight and then run to the press and say "we made an offer but haven't heard back" who in the history of boxing have ever made a fight over a yr in advance while still planning to have 2 other ppv fights prior to the fight they want to sign?? I'm you're not smart enough to see that it's all a scam so that Canelo fans like you won't jump ship then there is no getting through to you.
