Yes, Floyd said all that stuff about Ali, but what were the circumstances under which he said them?

He said those things when the press were trying to use the achievements of those guys to belittle him, so he retaliated in kind by making direct comparisons with them, obviously bringing up the fact that he was unbeaten, 5/6 division champ, and never/or would never lose to a guy with 7 pro fights (Ali).

He didn't come out of nowhere and say that, they (the media) were using those names as I said to belittle his own achievents. So he shut them up with facts.
No he started it by calling himself TBE and claiming he was better than Ali, SRR etc. The media didn't bring those comparisons up, Floyd did and he could have made his point without completely discrediting past greats. He has still been disrespectful about Ali even after he passed away. He's classless, don't try and make out he was put into a corner when he clearly wasn't.

If people "hate" Floyd it's mostly due to antics outside of the ring. He's unbeaten. Did he manipulated the fight game to his benefit? Sure he did. But he's a gifted athlete who translated that gift by parleying it into a massive amount of wealth. IMO if he was a nice guy people might still hate him mostly out of jealousy for his success.

It's not an opinion that the media brought those things up, it's a fact. I saw most of those interviews.

Calling himself TBE? What's wrong with that? Ali called himself The Greatest In The World before he even won a world title, so if you're speaking on his behalf then you are quite misguided.

Ali was far more arrogant than Floyd. They asked him if he was any good at golf in this other interview, and he said he aint never played the sport but he know he the greatest golfer in the world.

Imagine how the pro golfers of the time felt?

Please man don't be petty. If you want to criticize Floyd for TBE then go back to the original source of that behaviour and criticize him. You're doing the same thing the media did, using an ATG to belittle Floyd, ignoring that said ATG you're talking about is guilty of the exact same thing.

Do you believe he's the best ever? yes or no will suffice. I think he's completely delusional calling himself TBE, but he's free to do so, however doing so will result in him being compared to past greats it's at this point that Mayweather started to belittle past greats to try and make himself look better.

Ali called himself the GOAT... he also called Robinson "the king, the master, my idol." The quote about golf was tongue and cheek, do you really think he believed that?

Ali more arrogant than Floyd? Behave! Ali never went with a massive entourage of people wherever he went like Floyd does, Ali often gave substantial donations to poor people in secret while Mayweather constantly posts picture of himself with his money. There's a reason Ali is called the people's champ, there's a reason he is recognized and loved to this day. Only an absolute fanboy would claim Ali is more arrogant than Floyd.

So Floyd's accomplishments are diminished because of his immense talent? Name one other boxer in the history of the sport who collected titles in 5 weight divisions while remaining undefeated as a professional. Name one other fighter who was a unified champion at two weight classes at the time when he retired? Name one other fighter who was universally recognized as the sport's pound for pound number one at 38 years of age?
              There are no others.

Floyd is in a league of his own and for that he should be respected.

No one hates Floyd when he is inside the ring, the problems comes when he tries to call himself TBE and say legends of past are not as good as him because he is undefeated. Thats not how it works. Peeps like Leonard and Ali fought fighters at their prime when they were killers. Floyd chose to wait it out until he saw slippage or not enough experience in a fighter to make a fight. Yes he is undefeated but he didnt take on fighters when they were at their best. You can find quotes from Floyd himself, "It's all about timing", "the right time". Also his repeated use of "at the end of the day", "A side", "Like I said before" gets to peoples nerves.

His clothes. Floyd dresses like the extravagantly gay friend on the latest popular sitcom like 33% of the time.
