Hunter's likely going to take a bit of time off, but he should be back out sooner than expected.

Only real issue now is that there seems to be a bit of a logjam emerging at cruiserweight; Ledbedev is holding his belt hostage in Russia, Andrew Tabiti (200lb LV gym mate of Michael Hunter) is already seemingly on track for his own title shot at the Shumenov-Dorticos winner, and Grigory Drozd is the first in line for new WBC champ Breidis (Bellew is likely looking to cash out on his next 3-4 fights before hanging the gloves up), and the IBF has the process for determining the next challenger.

With Glowacki, Steve Cunningham, Marco Huck, BJ Flores, prospects like Keith Tapia, and the rest of the old warhorses at the weight, string together 2-3 wins and he's likely positioned for another shot soon enough.

Tabiti is one of the most technically sound fighters and has a height and reach advantage against a lot of guys. He is one of my favorites who I'm pulling for against a lot of them. I'm interested in seeing where Dorticos stands based on his fight against Shum. But there is one guy I will never pull against and that is my sentimental favorite, Steve Cunningham. Great human being with a sad backstory that combines to make a special person who I want to see get more success in the ring. I'll admit if he wins another title, I'll damn near be in tears. Steve doesnt have a mean bone in his entire body.

I was very impressed with Michael Hunter, his dad was a warrior and so is junior. Usyk is impressive but there's something about him that gives me reservation. I know he's a slow starter but he's there to be hit, I imagine because he is so intentional in pushing the offense; there also seems to be an awkwardness. I had it 9-3 in favor of Usyk. Entertaining scrap, I want to see Usyk again but I also want to see Hunter. I really like his style, would enjoy seeing him against Glowacki or Breidis.

Hunter was much better than I thought he would be at this stage. He took a beating in the end, so he needs some time off, but he has a bright future imo. A comeback fight against someone like Shimmell followed by a fight against USS Cunningham as a kind of passing of the torch among American CW's would make a lot of sense

I think this is the worst I've ever seen Usyk.
Now, unlike most I knew Hunter wouldn't be easy, I mean this guy wasn't the top American at Super Heavyweight then Heavyweight for two Olympic cycles for no reason, but Usyk just looked way off.

He has to get far away from Russ Anber. Russ seems like a great guy, but a trainer he is not. At least James Ali Bashir was a trainer.
Unfortunately I don't think Anatoly Lomachenko wants to focus on anyone but his son, which is understandable.
Usyk should try Marcos, the guy who trained Gvozdyk.
I'm not liking Usyk's trainer choices since he has gone pro.

I'm not saying this to hype up Hunter, but I think Hunter can beat almost everyone else in the division.
