  • Comments Thread For: Monaghan on Stevenson: Nobody Respects This Punk Motherf***er

Light heavyweight contender Sean Monaghan (28-0, 17 KOs) is furious after learning that WBC light heavyweight champion Adonis Stevenson (28-1, 23 KOs) finalized a deal to fight Polish contender Andrzej Fonfara (29-4, 17 KOs) in a rematch on June 3rd, in Canada.

U just got spared an ass whoopin Managhan, u should be thankful.

And as far as the Joe Smith debacle, anyone who's not bias knows the blame rests solely on Joe Smith/team for that fight falling apart. I think his team figured out at the last minute that since their fighter blocks punches with his chin it wouldn't be a good look.

LMAO. I've got a feeling Stevenson's time is gonna run out soon, despite his efforts to avoid taking on the top opponents. He's really getting up there in age now and I think either Fonfara or Alvarez are going to upset Stevenson in his next couple fights

It's still pathetic that he's rematching Fonfara though the article made it sound like JCC Jr. was some ****ing monster or something.

nobody cares about stevenson no more. dude is a joke. even ward said he's not worth talking about. he faded into irrelevancy holding a belt hostage. hopefully fonfara beats him so he can fade away. he has been an awful champion.

Who?? This dude didn't deserve a title shot in the first place and nobody except his family and friends wanted to see this fight. Stevenson picked Fonfara over a 36-year-old over-protected nobody who has never fought anyone worth a damn.

Although Monaghan isn't much, I agree with his sentiment. Stevenson is technically the lineal champion, but I don't think much of him. I put him in the list of other titleholders who haven't really fought anyone but can walk around and say they are world champions. Ya know? The Terry Flanagans of boxing. It's pathetic at this point. There's no defending his poor opposition, all things considered.

                    He ain't wrong.

And he gots to be upset about getting a nice, probably career high, payday & opportunity taken from him seemingly. Idk how legit the fight was, but it did seem all but official not THAT long ago.
