Historians rate GGG highly among all time middles. Monzon and hagler are higher most likely.
But once gggbeats nelo and bjs he will be rated higher

I have literally never seen a fanbase go to so many extremes to exagerate a fighters accomplishments..GGG is a solid fighter but for whatever reason he spent most of his career fighting 2nd and 3rd tier fighters..Jacobs was the 2nd best MW at the time and it was a good win..but PLEASE!!!!!!!! stop acting like it was some ATG caliber win..IT IS EMBARRASSING

"Yes Jacobs was live with GGG. He’s 6ft, motivated, in his prime and was fighting at home. Sometimes the media does not realize that great fighters are human. GGG was due for a tough fight. The odds were against him to not have a tough fight. He had 23 straight kos and was the most dominant champion in boxing. He probably lost no more than 4 rounds in his entire title reign. I think it shows the lack of knowledge and integrity in boxing that people are actually criticizing him for having a close fight. It’s really common for champions to have tough night vs prime comp. For example we talk about Salvador Sanchez and how great he was. He was surely special and in my opinion the 3rd best fighter of the 80s. But he had two razor close decision wins vs Patrick Ford and Pat Codwell. Check it out on boxrec. It didn’t take away from his greatness but his opponents were there to bump." - See more at: http://www.boxingscene.com/daily-bre....KPhLPpww.dpuf

I am a huge Golovkin fan. But I believe prime Hagler or RJJ would absolutely starch him. IMO Hopkins GGG would be a good fight with Bhop winning by UD. As others have mentioned as past ATG's it was a different time and the best fought the best consistently not like it is today with all this duck dodge dip and dive BS

They are 2 clear divisions apart. If they'd fought at 168, there is no way ward would have gone 12 rounds. Kovalev demonstrated what a flawed fighter andre is. Ggg would have khtfo.
why are you making excuses when you yourself said he could go to 168 and ko ****ing ward?

Marvin Hagler, after dropping those two fights early, would become the middleweight champion within three years, make 14 successful defenses of the championship and almost beat Ray Leonard for his 15th defense.
Carlos Monzon did lose 3 of his first 20 fights (5 draws in his first 30 fights), but you've deliberately ignored the fact that Monzon made 15 defenses of the middleweight championship and was unbeaten for the 30 fights following his last draw (went 71-0-9 from his final defeat).
James Toney was 66-4-2 by the time he was 35, but he'd been 160lb world champion, 168lb world champion, won a regional light heavyweight title, cruiserweight world champion, and was a few months removed from winning a regional heavy title.
Felix Trinidad made 16 defenses of his welterweight world title, won a 154lb world title, only ran into issue when he was fighting well over his head at middleweight.
Golovkin is 35 years old, and has just had his first legitimate fight (two if you want to count Kell Brook)

Being exposed to some people standards is going to war with an opponent and taking a few shots but still dominating mostly all the round except one of them, and making the guy quit.
The next example was him boxing smart and defending very good, he took Jacobs to boxing school dominated him with a better boxing IQ, EXPOSED!!

Hagler fair enough I think that's his only shot of losing out of the three you mentioned that is, he'd find a way to Jones chin and check it and make Jones sleep, B-hop boxing IQ is massively overrated, GGG is the better boxer and would take him to school.
