Ward had all of 150 fights as an amateur, with nearly two years in his pro career where he was taking minimal punishment and simply keeping fit/recovering from injury.

    what are you talking about?

Ward vs Stevenson needs to happen. at least Al will know it's good exposure for PBC regardless if Adonis looses

I'm talking about the toll it takes on your body. It's not rjj going up to hw then back down to lhw but still takes a toll

The cut back down to 168lbs after committing to the move to light heavyweight definitely has exaggerated effects, but let's not overstate the situation.

Roy Jones Jr had to go from a fit and shredded 202-205lbs, back down to 175lbs, in 8 months; taking that amount of muscle off of Roy, imo, ruined him. If Roy had simply decided to just fight at cruiserweight (200lbs), or made a couple stops at cruiserweight before going back down to 175lbs (if that was what he wanted to do), he would've taken the cut better.

As recently as the ESPN interview, Andre Ward openly stated that he walked around near 180lbs. He's committed his body to filling in as best he can for light heavyweight, but I doubt that he's any heavier than 188/190lbs now.

Going from there, back down to 168, is likely an utter pain (which is why I don't see him ever doing it), but it's not an terrible position if given the proper time to do so, imo.

No way in hell Main Events is going to let Kovalev fight Beterbiev. They'll call a purse bid and lose it like they always do and pull out because they won't allow Kovalev to fight off HBO. Badou Jack would be a good fight but I don't see HBO spending the money it takes to make this fight without PPV. I don't think it'll take a lot of money but they won't pay it.
Rubber match. Classic trilogy. Lots of snoring.

I think if Ward can somehow win which I think is unlikely, I think he goes to 168 for Golovkin and if he wins there he retires, with his legacy secured. At this stage I think that's all that is driving Ward.
