Looks like Cotto-Kamegai is about to become official

According to this article in El Vocero of Puerto Rico they are saying that Alberto "El Explosivo" Machado is going to appear on the undercard of Cotto vs Kamegai June 24th at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY

And also that a representative of Teiken Promotions that co-promotes Kamegai with Golden Boy Promotions confirmed that Cotto vs Kamegai is going to happen June 24th.

Seems like the Cotto-Kamegai fight is going through and will be announced soon.

    Here's the article link:

The article is in spanish. Sorry for those of you that can't read or speak spanish. But I pretty much translated what was said in the article.

I don't mind this fight as long as it's NOT PPV Kamagai is a exciting brawling fighter. This will be entertaining for however long it goes. Much better as a free HBO fight then paying PPV for Kirkland fight.

I don't care. Cotto has enough fans that will buy it and the event will be fire. There's always fine ass women at Cotto fights too.

As long as it's no belt on the line or affects the rankings Cotto can do whatever he wants. And Kamegai can get his retirement check.

Or maybe because the article is in Spanish and we don't read Spanish. We're going off the info the thread starter gave us. He should've included that in the topic

It would be much better on PPV instead of wasting what little budget HBO has on this.

If the dates hold up, you've got this fight, paired with the re-air of Ward-Kovalev II, on regular HBO.

Heading out to my usual bar to catch Ward-Kovalev the weekend before anyway (unless a party comes up), so doubt I'd be on the edge of my seat to see Cotto-Kamegai.

If you miss the PPV, the doubleheader the following weekend is seemingly worth it.
