How to get better?

Hi guys!

I have been boxing for a year now and think it's really fun and would like to take the step to compete. But feel nervous about it. I would like to really get good first before I compete.

How do you do to maximize your physique, hone your technique and constantly evaluate yourself to get better?

Get you a trainer that knows boxing is the first thing

if you cant compete with your opponent you are goign to have to learn how to clinch, bend below the waist, jump/rush into them without throwing punches, etc...doing this might not get you the decision and might get you dq'd because you arent the a-side and have no ability to generate money but you will keep yourself safe.

The only way to improve is to spar. Do not spar unless you are under the supervision of a reputable coach. Find a boxing gym in your area, get registered with USA Boxing, and do it the right way, otherwise you can get hurt badly and you won't learn much outside of a gym.

Spar, dude, with quality and different opponents under supervision. Otherwise you would get hurt.
