Comments Thread For: Hagler Eventually Wanted No Part of Rematch With Ray Leonard

The article is misleading BS. Hagler demanded a rematch and Leonard refused to give him one. When it became crystal clear Leonard was never going to rematch him Hagler retired. Leonard never offered Hagler a rematch at any time. Leonard didn't want a rematch for good reason. Hagler was deadly in rematches and won all his rematches by KO.Comment

That fight was on closed circuit in arenas. there was no TVHe got in his head from the time he pulled the fake fight announcement BS.
Hagler was always EXTREMELY jealous of SRL , his image and his easier road to the top. He started out on TV and made a ****load of money while Hagler had to toil in obscurity for so long and never got the credit he felt he deserved.
I remember when they announced that score and I was throwing **** at the TV mad as ****. I was so pissed off! I was mad for like a week. LOL!Comment

I didn't know Pryor was offered a fight with Leonard? Why would Pryor say no when he had nothing to lose and would make more money than 10 title defenses not to mention the guy was crazy enough to fight anyone. Why would Leonard fight Pryor when he had nothing to gain and could possibly lose to a guy you really can't prepare for. He could take a punch, he had great stamina, he hit hard, and he threw lotsa punches. All bad for Leonard. It was a 20x20 ring.
Try again.
Wrong. Hagler only started having success once Leonard slowed down and became more stationary and less active in the second half of the fight. And Hagler boxing out of an orthodox stance had never been an issue before because he was a natural switch-hitter.
And what Aaron Pryor situation? The one where Pryor ducked two offers to fight Leonard?
There was no genuine offer or strong desire to fight Pryor.Comment

Pacheco screams "I CAN'T BELIEVE IT " when Duran takes the last 2 rds off
That's a fact, dumbo,
if ya know what it means
Duran made Leonard his ***** that night; made her cry like a senorita
Ann ass whipping for the ages for ya to enjoy
Counts for Zlich when you lose on points after 12 rds
If ability means being behind on points, then yeah, Leonard had ability
Plenty of it
Just like youComment
