Hagler was always EXTREMELY jealous of SRL , his image and his easier road to the top. He started out on TV and made a ****load of money while Hagler had to toil in obscurity for so long and never got the credit he felt he deserved.

I remember when they announced that score and I was throwing **** at the TV mad as ****. I was so pissed off! I was mad for like a week. LOL!
Leonard won that fight...rounds 1,2,3,4,6,10 and 11 were all leonards rounds...12 was a swing round as well....and hagler had leonard on the ropes plenty of times and still couldnt do anything with him.....go watch rounds 6 and 9 to see that...hell even leonard won 2 of the last 3 rounds and people say if it was a 15 round fight hagler would have won..hagler was also dead on his feet in that last round so i dont see the logic of it....i remember like you mr dunn plain as day that fight and i must ahve watched thayt fight over 50 times and i can never give hagler anymore rounds besides 5,7,8,9 and possibly 12...go watch round 5 and your seeing leonard was winning that round up to the 2 minute mark before he got to ****y ....2 great fighters but leonard was a notch above hagler

Im a HAGLER guy but was very pissed at

      1. For some reason chose to come out conventional the 1st round!

      2. Didn't go to Leonards body nearly enough to slow him down.

      3. Gave him too much respect!

I don't give spit who wins fights unless my fighters are involved, do you even know anyone who fights?

I am in the pasture but to get here you need to be in the mix to begin with. You have never seen a ring in person let alone lace up and fight.
You telling me what it takes to box is a joke, I've trained national amateur champions and pro world champions you haven't trained yourself to acknowledge that others have opinions that differ from yours and that's ok!

What I forgot you'll NEVER know!

        Ray
Nothing to do with knowing him...its about the correct scoring of fights....leoanrd might be an ******* but that has nothing to do with scoring a boxing match....if you score that fght round by round on the 10-8 must system and tot the rounds up ...leonard won....1,2,3,4,6,10 and 11 and you must be blind if you score any of those rounds for hagler....haglers clear cut runds were 5,7,8 and 9 ....12 could have been scored for either boxer...thats a fact

We can agree to disagree. As I posted I wasn't upset at the 115-113 scorecard for SRL even though I love Hagler, despise SRL, and thought Hagler won. My only issue is the 118-110 score which IMO is the single worst scorecard I have ever seen (even worse than 114-114 Mayweather/Canelo).

PBP and Butch.McRae make excellent points about the fight that I agreed with.

SRL wasn't a notch above Hagler as a fighter but he deserves to be ranked ahead of him. He was several notches above him as a star and used that star power to get the ring size he needed to win.

If they fought today, Vegas standard ring is 20x20. SRL couldn't use that star power to get the larger ring. I think a smaller ring has a huge impact on the outcome of the fight.

hagler went after the dough its plain to see...he had enough leverage to challenge srl on the ring size but i believe he just truly didn't give a 2 cents combined with his belief that srl couldn't possibly beat him regardless of how big the ring is...too bad they didn't fight that immediate rematch but whats done is done

Hagler sold himself short in the end. Was too emotional with the whole saga.

He was disgusted with the sport so I get why he didn't want anything to do with the sport, but come one man a career high payday and revenge? That's hard to turn down.

Hagler was actually the a side in the first fight. Or what we'd call a side these days.
