Barrera never beat a top fighter? Morales just to name one was a top fighter. He beat many top fighters.

I never said they didn't, I said they never beat anymore top fighters in the end of their careers when Manny fought them.

Great observation. Today's entitlement mindset has fighters like Crawford thinking their stock is worth more than what they put into it. Calling out smaller fighters but avoiding the big dogs at 147. He almost **** himself when Max asked him about a fight with Spence. Loma and Pac took on monsters that everyone else feared, and did it convincingly. Pac has a better resume in three years than Crawford has his entire career thus far.

At 140 he should be calling out Broner, not someone at 130 or thinking he is entitled to a fight with Pac because they are in the Arum camp. Fight Khan or Porter at 147, then lets have a look.

That's because fighters of a certain demographic get major props for the same things fighters of Crawford's demographic don't get recognition for, or even get criticszed for.

You just gotta look at this thread. So many people claiming Crawford aint deserve props even though he is unified champ in two divisions. Same people claiming he should move up are the ones claiming GGG shouldn't/doesn't have to move up.

Max Kellerman asked Crawford to move up and fight Spence but when has he ever asked Pacquiao or GGG to move up?

There is clearly one demographic that is being unfairly treated and when they asked for equal recognition and treatment, they get called welfare whiners.

Yes, a lot of fighters do it, but eventually you have to settle into a weight. When that happens you are either stuck in a weight class with no money fights or you are in a very deep division with dangerous opposition. You can get away with it for a few years, but Mikey is running out of room to maneuver. No big money fights at 135 unless Loma moves up, and a move to 140 means he gives up his size advantage and the only money there is Broner and Crawford.

Crawford moving up to 147 is going to be facing deep threats with Thurman, Brook, Spence, Pac, Garcia, Porter, no easy route to the big money he feels he is entitled to.

I think Mikey has very good options with Linares and Lomachenko at 135, and Crawford @ 140 (if Mikey hurries). Broner is never making 140 again! Crawford will be @ 147 in 2018, mark it down! When will GGG and Kovalev move up?

I think he gets lots of appreciation from the majority of boxing fans. He gets the amount of appreciation expected for what he has done in the ring. Loma fights at 130 and shouldn't have to fight the world's best at 140. Crawford is probably bigger than Pacquiao so he could fight Pacquiao at either 140 or 147. If he beats Pacquiao he will get lots of appreciation for that. There is a good chance Pacquiao would beat Crawford. Crawford will get appreciation for beating Pacquiao when and if he beats him. He doesn't get credit for winning fights he hasn't won yet.

Nobody is discrediting Pacquaio. They are just going with the logic that Crawford is an excellent fighter in his prime against a once great fighter a few years removed from his. Would you give Crawford full credit if he beat Pacquaio? Or would you cry that Pacquaio was too old and too small?

I'd view it as a very good win for Crawford, but a little more important to his marketability and mainstream appeal.

I definitely wouldn't "cry" about anything boxing related. I'm a fan and I follow the sport religiously. And first they have to fight and he has to of course win. But in the event he were to beat Manny I would absolutely give him credit. Pacquiao is still one of the top welterweights in the world even though he clearly isn't the 2009 version that steamrolled people.
But still I'd favor Manny over him

First thing, why would max ask Manny to move up? Where should Pacquiao move to?? The guys moved up from flyweight and won world titles in a record 8 weight classes!! GGG I guess I could slightly understand the comparison but his huge money fight is at 160 with canelo where he could make mega millions .. Does Crawford have millions waiting for him at 140? Also GGG is a few wins away from the record of middleweight title defences so that's another reason he has stayed put

Hes NOT self promoting. Hes crying about not getting respect or his credit. It is because he has not earned it. To say you wont get credit for beating to of the biggest names in the sport is simply ******ed.

Did Lomachenko earn a title fight in his 2nd pro fight? How about Rigondeaux? Were their early title fights considred handouts?

You know Crawford wouldn't get credit for beating Pacquiao or Lomachenko because more than likely you'll be the first one to discredit him. He still doesn't get credit for Gamboa. If Gamboa made the weight and got in the ring he's not too small. I don't call it crying he's making a comment on how he's getting discredited for his accomplishments. Boxers make comments about themselves everyday. Yet only certain boxers get criticized for it.

Barrera beat Morales a year after Pacquaio stopped him.

Marquez beat Casamayor, Diaz, Katsidis between fights II & III.

I hate Pacquaio and agree there's a lot of padding and cherry picking, but he fought some greats in the middle of good form.
