Again Andre ward hasn't fought at smw in almost 4 years it's been well known he has a hard time making 168 and he already moved up to 175 at the time of all this He clearly called out a smaller guy and got praised by his idiot stans for it. But ggg fights brook a last minute replacement who stepped up and is criticized for fighting a smaller guy. Thats the spot on definition of hypocrisy.

Andre Ward was 3 pounds off of 168lbs with three weeks to go to the Paul Smith fight, whopped Paul Smith, and then went on national TV and punked Golovkin.

Maybe, maybe not, who knows.

I'm surely there's plenty of legal loopholes to get out of rematch clauses i.e. a cut off date it has to be signed by or something. It could be avoided one way or another.

I'm no Ward fan but looking at who he faced at SMW and then went to 175 and fought Kovalev, he doesn't strike me as a guy who avoids a challenge.

I think the only legal loophole is retirement which Ward threatened to do to avoid the rematch. Judging by his comments after the fight there is no way this rematch would've happened if it wasn't contracted.
