Reasons why I think Lemieux will be the September opponent
1. It will be an in-house fight. Both fighters are with Golden Boy, so only Golden Boy profits from this 100%. Easy fight to make.
2. It's a decent enough Plan B opponent for Canelo to make up for lack of a GGG/Canelo fight being made.
3. Lemieux/Canelo would make for an action packed fight, I would imagine. So Canelo's fanbase will definately buy this PPV, seeing the danger is Lemieux being a knockout artist. People will be intrigued to see how Canelo faces a big puncher. So people will buy this PPV, imo. Hence why Lemieux is put on the Canelo/Chavez undercard against a bum (who he will prolly knockout) to be prolly introduced as the next opponent. Even myself, I wouldn't mind watching Canelo/Lemieux if we don't get Canelo/GGG.

Reasons why I think Lemieux won't be the September opponent
1. Lemieux is still a risky opponent for Canelo. Golden Boy's matchmaking of Canelo's opponents are usually guys that Canelo can 90/10 most likely beat and to me, Lemieux is a live opponent in this fight who could KO Canelo with a shot. So maybe Canelo will fight an easier 160lb opponent than Lemieux. Would Canelo actually fight someone that could possibly beat & hurt him? I dunno, I'm not feeling it. History echoes my sentiments
2. Maybe Chavez actually gives the fight of his life, makes it close and we have Canelo/Chavez 2 in September.

Stop with the ******ity already. Should Caenlo also cancel his fight in May because they need that month to promote the fight as well? It's a ridiculous way of B1tching out of the GGG fight.

That makes no sense he's the A side when his fight is over will look for the best option for sept. If GGG takes himself off the table by signing to fight someone else in a fight that screws up canelo time line and sept date then that's his fault that he is managed by idiots. Otherwise sit yo azz down and wait 1 month and agree to fight canelo. It's that simple he can agree to terms right now and make it official by signing 1 day after the Chavez fight. Not only does he make a career payday but a fight with canelo draw at worst 3x the ppvs that GGG/Jacobs did. Every fighter 2 weight claaes above or below canelo would cut off their nut to fighat canelo because he pays you more then you can get anywhere else. Too bad GGG is apparently allergic to money. SMH

Of course if Chavez is a close fight there is a risk of a rematch. This is boxing thats part of the game. Sucks being the B side having to wait and see but that's GGG position. Waiting is what a B side does. So it's smart for GGG to cut off his own nose to spite his face? Say screw waiting for Chavez to end and take himself off the board for Sept costing himself countless millions and a chance to land the big fight he's been begging for over half a decade? OK ****** business decision and lemieux swoops in and steals the sept fight. And guess what if that fight is close there could be a rematch too that will always be the risk GGG has.

I like this fight. Canelo has yet to face a legit middleweight contender. Lemieux is an excellent opponent to test the waters at 160.
