Everyone is mostly referring to instances where said fighters were way far gone prior to that fight.

As far as beating a guy mentally and putting physical damage aside..Hatton vs Floyd, Barrera vs Naseem, and Ali vs Foreman are good examples

Floyd didn't really rruin Hatton because hatton looked sensational against Castillo and Malinaggi after he fought Mayweather.

None of those highlighted guys were ruined. The worst bit is, you have put Gatti in who everyone but HBO knew was already shot yet May's broadcaster made it seem like he was fighting the top dog. But we all know who the top dog was don't we?

Hopkins has definitely ruined fighters. He took Tito in the midst of his prime, KO peak and humbled him. He did something similar to Pavlik and dismantled Pascal who had previously beaten Dawson.

Can't deny Pac ruined Barrera and Morales to a certain extent, he most definitely ruined Diaz and Ledwabo and did more to ruin Hatton than Mayweather did.

Ali ruined Liston and Foreman while both men were supposedly unstoppable. Heck, Douglas ruined Tyson or the myth that a fighter couldn't come forward and **** with him.

And I believe McCall's KO over Lewis ruined the latter as an offensive fighter.

Agree with this, at least the first paragraph :-) In many of the cases listed, the so-called 'ruined' fighter was already on the slide, so it was more a case of highlighting that slide rather than ruining them.

I have also seen plenty of fighters listed where the said guy continued to fight at the top level, sometimes for many years afterwards. I'm not sure how that qualifies as being ruined?!

Obvious recent ones for me where the beaten fighter was prime or close to it, but were never the same after their fights were Calzaghe vs Lacy & Ward vs Dawson.

I think Naz was already out of love with the game and has said as much since retiring, Pavlik was already hitting the bottle and possibly suffering from CTE looking at reports of his behaviour, J Taylor had already been battered several times before Abraham got to him and George Foreman returned after a decade off to win a belt of a guy who was 35-0 in his mid-forties. In my opinion the best achievement of his career. If he was ruined mentally by the Ali fight, he certainly managed to 'un-ruin' himself

                      Tua ruined Ruiz
Toney ruined Nunn (Nunn was already getting in bad habits before Toney and accomplished some titles after Toney, but he was far away from the elite fighter he once was).
Trinidad ruined Reid (Reid had problems in his eyes since the 95' pan am games).
                      Duran ruined Davey Moore
                      Honeyghan ruined Curry
                      Ali ruined the prime Foreman
Tito probably ruined Vargas, but Vargas faced too many good fighters at such a young age.
Forrest didn't ruin Mosley, but he changed something in him, similar to Rosario vs Camacho
Manny probably ruined Barrera and Morales, but they were in many wars before those fights against Pacquiao.
                      Mayweather and Pacquiao ruined Hatton.
I wouldn't put tragic fights, but i will cheat by saying that Eubank and Benn were never the same fighters after the tragic fights they won.
Tarver ruined Jones and i don't give the weight issue as much importance as other people.
                      Tyson ruined Spinks mentally.
                      Garcia probably ruined Matthyse.
Solid list that I mostly agree with.

Idk about Tua ruining Ruiz doe, didn't Ruiz win the HW title post Tua?

I think the best examples are:

Tyson vs Spinks - I legit was looking up Michael Spinks a few days ago cuz I was thinking I don't think I've seen a pic or heard of him in public since 1988. Its like Tyson's did a 91 second erasing of Spinks. Here's Spinks in 2017 btw.

Trinidad vs Vargas - bravery points for no f#cking around Vargas for taking a fight few would have taken with that level of experience, but I don't think Vargas achieved his full potential because of the damage he took in this fight.

Ali vs Foreman - the only guy ruined who I think had a rebirth later in his career

Chavez vs Taylor - Chavez shoulda lost the fight in probably most peoples opinion on this night, but you could damn near see Taylor lose his soul round after round during the fight & you could probably pinpoint the exact round Taylor reached his career peak & started going downhill in this amazing performance.
