I mean, the fight makes perfect sense now. They're no longer separated by weight classes.

But it's also been just so long since all that shyte was fresh on everyone's mind.

If I were a network, I'd buy the fight for like 500k, and let them split it.

They prolly wanted like 500k or more a piece for it.

I bet if this was Danny Garcia looking for another cherrypick , Haymon would get either Rios, or Ortiz paid 500k to be Garcia's next cherrypick.

But they wouldn't pay Rios and Ortiz each that much, despite it being a 50/50 fight, and with a storyline that makes for extra drama.

Lol I legit think PBC would pay either Rios, or Ortiz mid to upper six-figures to be a cherry-pick for one of their fighters like Garcia...

But wouldn't pay them each that much to headline a card.

PBC is awesome, for the most part - I LOVE all the extra fights each year. But they do some whack-ass shyte sometimes too..

Lol I'm not even saying this fight is worth that much, or like I'm even that interested in seeing it. I just think it's funny how they'd pay either one to be a "victim" against Garcia, but not for them to fight each other in a much better matchup on paper.

Rios may get a fight with Cotto and that will make lots more money than a grudge match with Ortiz. He will get KOed of course but he will wake up much richer.
