Maybe Team GGG can use this as a negotiating ploy/ruse vs GBP to say we'll just go and fight Ward....(but what if gbp call their bluff?) Its GGG best chance for a big win...ward coming down to a weight he hasnt been in almost 5 years, NAH Ward would destroy him, Ward went through the super 6, Kov, Dawson....he has more boxing ability than Jacobs and will be even bigger....GGG is between a rock and a hard place. He's gonna be forced into a fight he doesnt want

Jacobs has way more punching power than Ward, and he couldn't phase Golovkin. The only chance Ward has is to clinch and cheap shot. But don't look for Ward to sign on for this fight if there is a rehydration clause (which there should be for all fights), Ward is a diva and wants everything on his terms. That's how he was able to get past a weight drained Dawson. GGG has way more leverage than Dawson.
no need to rewrite history. dawson was the champ, he offered to drop down in weight. him and his trainer insisted it was no problem. this was immediately after he beat Hopkins. all ward did was accept the challenge. as a champion dawson had enough power to demand ward move to 175 but he told the whole world he could make 168 with no problem or excuses. no need to cry afterwards. it was a legit victory for ward.

Hahah why is Ward acting like he's got options?! Well, he does have options - rematch Kovalev (which he signed a clause), or RETIRE.

If DADDY KOVALEV gives him permission, then he can fight someone else.

Yeah Dawson was the one who told everyone LIVE he would fight Ward at 168 even before Ward knew anything about it. Some ppl ignore facts for some odd reason???

Lol still hasn't been confirmed. You made me think I actually missed this fight being confirmed.

Not even on boxrec yet, and they'll have the fights up before they are officially announced.

All I could find is what I had already heard - Kovalev signed the contract, but Ward is still going on about "being in charge" or some nonsense.

That's like two months away, though, so I have my doubts that it takes place on June 17th.

Won't happen for lots of reasons.

But mainly, 'If the money is there'. Unless someone wants to take a loss on it, it won't be.

Lol. Ward is a stylistic nightmare for everybody! That's what his game is all about.

Wow, they are singing a totally different tune now. Compare this to Abel Sanchez saying it had to be 164 or no fight.
