    The initial response was something about this fight not being discussed until 2013 is simply lies. He was Gamboa's mandatory in 2011 and Garcia and his team said 'not Gamboa'. That's fact.
    Moving the post, not only did I quote you, I even put in bold and asked you to show me where Mikey said what you "literally" posted.

    You still haven't done that, if you really wanna know which fight was being discussed just watched the end of the Solis fight, I was there and so was he. But hey, whatever floats your raft, obviously you're trynna create something that never was.

    Not really surprises me anymore when it comes to Gamboa fans, ya will defend that scumbag to the end.

      Gamboa wanted Juanma and everyone wanted to see it. However, it was blatantly obvious that Arum had zero interest in sending a cash cow (Juanma) in to get his ass kicked by a Cuban with a much smaller fan base. Therefore, other options were far more likely.

      You posted a video of Garcia saying he wants the champions, conveniently after Gamboa was stripped. He also mentioned other contenders, the only guy he failed to mention was Gamboa. You take that, you take the HBO guys telling everyone on air that Garcia and his team said (and I quote) 'not Gamboa.' and what does it tell you?

      I have no problem criticizing Gamboa, he's made **** up after **** up throughout his career. I love him as a fighter, but he's wasted his career for the most part due to terrible decision making.

        Garcia was Gamboa's mandatory, they said 'not Gamboa'.

        I'm not even taking a shot at Mikey, I think he's excellent. I just think him mentioning a Gamboa fight even now (but still only under certain conditions) is hard to believe given past events.
        Did you even read that article???

        "And perhaps one of the future (Top FW) , Miguel Angel "Mikey" Garcia"

        "Garcia, already in a mandatory position for one of Gamboa's titles,"

        Just like I THOUGHT??? He was NOT the mandatory. If he won he would be in postion to probably fight someone else to be the TRU Mandatory. Here is the WBC ruling...

        "Qualified Challengers. Champions shall defend their titles, either in a voluntary or
        mandatory defense, against a challenger (each, a “Qualified Challenger”) in one of the
        following categories:
        (a) any of the top ten (10) rated contenders; or
        (b) with the approval of or ratification by a majority of the Board of Governors,
        i. any boxer rated 11 to 15;
        ii. a champion or a highly-rated boxer of another weight division;
        iii. another WBC champion, such as a WBC Diamond or Silver Champion,
        Champion Emeritus, or Champion in Recess;
        iv. a former world champion or other elite challenger;
        v. a champion of another boxing organization recognized by the WBC; or
        (c) under special circumstances and with the approval of or ratification by two-third
        (2/3rd) of the Board of Governors, a contender not otherwise listed in one or more of
        the above categories. "

          Whatever!!! YOU said Garcia DUCKED Gamboa at FW.

          23 year old PROSPECT Garcia with practically ZERO amateur career. Unless you want to count police academy and Jr. Golden Glove medals as a REAL amateur career??? And fighting Matt Remillard was a HUGE step up from what he was used to.

          DUCKED a 29 Year Old PRIME CUBAN with MULTIPLE Medals in REAL amateur fights and was CURRENTLY the #1 RANKED FW CHAMPION on the WORLD.

          GTFOHere with that BS!!!

          This is what they said at the time...

          "Said Moretti: "I think it's a great opportunity for both guys. I don't know which guy is going to have his hand raised at the end of the fight, but they are both winners for taking this kind of risk, which is what happens when you match up two undefeated guys. I think regardless of what happens, both of their careers will move forward."

          I talked to Mikey's trainer [and brother] Robert [Garcia], and he was fine with the fight. But he said, 'It's a really tough fight, but it's something Mikey has to do if he's going to be a world champion.'

                Do you want to tell him or you want me 2 on why the fight with Solis wasn't for the IBF Title???

                "Gamboa had missed a mandatory re-weighing procedure established by the IBF that his chance to defend it was annulled, as well as Solis's chance to claim it in case he had defeated Gamboa."

                Maybe that was the reason why he moved up and was wanting to fight Lightweight Champion Brandon Rios??? In the end he went up to fight Farenas at SUPER FW after the NON-Title fight with Leon.

                "YURIORKIS GAMBOA: I am ready to fight at 126, 130 or 135. I am ready for anything. Right now, this is something the promoters want. I will fight at any of those weights.

                  Funny how he forgets about Gamboa leaving Top Rank and getting SUED??? They had to buy out Gamboa contract.
