I'm glad you boys agree haha, I get invited to the pub to watch boxing with my mates who love sports in general but I cringe with some of the things they say. Even in the gym a lot of guys who box don't know much about the current boxing scene somehow.
Anybody else hate talking to 'boxing fans' in real life

That crap is crazy man. Cause it's always them talking some nonsense they heard that isn't anywhere near the truth. Then I say something and it's like "Oh, I guess you actually follow the sport". Then after that nobody wants to talk about boxing anymore, they'd rather just go off of rumors or false infoComment

I'm from England so it's more of a boxing culture at the moment, they'll also know Bellew, Haye, AJ, Fury, and maybe watched Crolla fight linares,
they are limited on what they know but they've watched a couple of their fights but have no clue about boxers anywhere else in the world or boxing history of any kindComment

I honestly don't know anybody that I would describe as more than a casual boxing fan and I only have a couple friends that are even casual fans. It sucks not knowing anyone that is a hardcore boxing fan. Literally the only time my friends were interested in boxing was Mayweather/Pacquiao or telling me how Mike Tyson would knock out anyone, ever. FMLComment

Luckily a lot of my closest friends are hardcore. I'd say a casual fan is better to talk to than a hater/nutthugger. This place seems to be majority hater/hugger/casual than what you'd expect. I mean if I was fairly new to Boxing I'd think Hagler was basically Gabe Rosado level and that GGG and Ward are either #1 & 2 all-time best or #1 and 2 all-time worst. That's a little more tedious than a casual fan claiming "nobody could beat prime Tyson".Comment

We are a rare breed of boxing fan. I notice I have to control myself around people saying completely ignorant things about boxing when I'm in the gym.Comment

It depends on what type of fans they are. I have come across folks that don't know much about fightets promoted overseas but they follow the sport on a local level.
More than not knowing is people chatting rubbish. The latter makes me roll my eyes.Comment

First time I met one of my best friends he said he was a boxing fan. I totally dismissed him until he started talking about how impressed he was with how Porter destroyed Paulie. I expected him to just know who Pacquiao and Mayweather were but dude knew his stuff.Comment

I enjoy talking to boxing fans, even if I disagree with them. I won't talk to so-called boxing fans who are typically fan-boys of one or two fighters and have no knowledge of boxing history.Comment
