I think the tide changed for Andre Ward when some people realized that he was more like Bernard Hopkins and less like Evander Holyfield. Not Bernard Hopkins the former criminal but the one who is outspoken and not afraid to give his opinion. And not the Evander Holyfield with 50 children outside his marriage but the one that nods and smile a lot and agree with whoever he's talking to.

I voted he isn't good for boxing. I don't think he is bad for boxing but I don't think he is good for boxing either. He is a smart skilled boxer. He is also a dirty fighter. A rule breaker. A clinching, mauling wrestler. A fighter who head butts and holds and hits. Many fans don't enjoy watching him fight and I am one of those. He rarely fights in the last 5 years and when he does it is against weak opponents. Kovalev was the first really good fighter he fought since he fought Dawson about 5 years ago.He talks way to much needless trash about Kovalev and GGG. He insulted GGG by calling him little g because GGG would only move up 4 pounds to fight him. Ward wouldn't move up a single pound to fight Dawson. Ward said he would drop to 160 to fight Mayweather but was outraged that GGG would ask to fight him at 164. He was a very poor sport winner when he beat Kovalev. As little fighting as he actually does I don't think he has much effect on boxing good or bad. He has taken too long to rematch Kovalev as per contract agreement. If he doesn't rematch Kovalev that's bad for boxing.

if ali is overrated then fck it everybody overrated. its not "cheating" if the ref allows it genius. ali is the undisputed god of boxing and he clinched more than ward. yet that doesn't affect his legacy. ward's haters seem to be more upset with the fact he exposed ggg and wasn't knocked out by kovalev. if you ask his peers they all have him top 3 pound for pound. explain that
