Sky have always been like that. I remember after the Kovalev/Ward fight, there was a lot of talk of 'listen to the Sky guys, they know their stuff'. It kind of left me scratching my head as Sky are amongst the worse out there. They have a bias for UK and American fighters. (Obviously UK first however).
And every foreign fighter who comes over to fight a Brit is 'world class', even if they clearly aren't.

Boxnation is better, but its more for boxing heads. No fanfare. Looks cheap etc. You kind of have to go out of your way to view it, they don't pamper or try to kid viewers. While Sky are there to sell a product.

I can understand them being bias, so are HBO and Showtime. If they can influence viewers who don't really know better, then they will.

The Bellew /Haye fight is good one to bring up to be fair. Bellew is their guy, so they are going to push him. But the way they called that fight, as if Bellew had dominated and beat up a prime Haye (and not been at sorts until a bad injury changed everything) was cringeworthy to watch.

To be fair with Sky it has been worse when our own boxers were pretty crap themselves. During the early noughties and the contestant WBU reigns of terror. I can still remember watching fighters like Steve Roberts, Jason Rowlands, Eamon Magee, Gary Lockett, and Michael Jennings, even feckin Takaloo ffs, Ted Bami, Alex Arthur, James Hare, Jawaid Khaliq!..they'd be telling us they were gonna be stars. As a kid I'd believe them at first.

Bless them all, and they were all fun domestic fighters but even as a kid eventually I knew well enough that they'd smashed to smithereens by anyone even at fringe world level - simply by watching the real top level boxing that they'd show.

That is why Hatton beating Tszyu had such an impact on me. I was starting to see through sky's crap even then. I expected Hatton to be absolutely chinned in a few rounds. I couldn't believe Hatton actually was genuinely world class, tough as old boots and relentless, fit and strong. I was stoked as hell!

So to be fair at least now these fighters are actually good, lol.

Many TV companies are the same I agree with what was said about sky but HBO's flagrant as well... nothing that can change they have their TV fighter that they back and it is obvious through the announce and they support him...

Andy Lee is spot on. When you listened to the casual fan in UK, it's like speaking to a human form of a Skysports marketing campaign. They're knowledge stretches only as far as what Skysports has shown them. I was speaking to one who was telling me that Brook deals with slick fighters easily and so Spence won't be a problem for him. You can blatantly tell he heard that nonsense from Johnny Nelson - who hasn't even seen Spence fight, it seems.
