Interesting how the tides are turning. For 2 years it's been about Canelo ducking Golovkin. If this fight doesn't happen and Golovkin moves up, the public perception will switch to Golovkin running from Canelo, especially if Golovkin starts looking old. Before anyone freaks out, I'm not saying that Golovkin is ducking. I just know the way the public interprets these things. Just the same way they started accusing Canelo of ducking.

There's some truth to what you say. However we dont know fck all about the alleged 15m offer. We dont know what stipulations that may or may not be attached such as options, rematch split etc. etc.

Why? Because they are still negotiating and k2 still believes they can make a deal, so they allow GBP to lead the marketing war (for now). Should the fight not get made at this point, there is a chance we get more info, but probably not as there is still time to make the fight in 2018. Theres so mych money to be won and lost here, and that drives everything.

Golovkin addressed, either he or Loeffler, "50/50." For whatever numbers or PPV negotiations that may be, people need to realize how sketchy that comes off, especially if Golovkin addressed it. What is Gennady' interpretation of "half and half" mean when they are talking about a deal. These negotiations are haywire. Golovkin says he's ready, but surely Golovkin can man up and detail something, whether its broken English or not, what needs to be done. Anybody can say "I'm ready." Please... this adult is clowning people. Alvarez, whether he vacated, at least makes sense of interviews

At what time in your longass video, does Abel acknowledge a 15m offer? Come on. Should be easy for you to say.

People acting like there was a 15 million dollar contract are not knowledgeable about negotiations or are intentionally trolling. The 15 million was never more than an oral offer that could be retracted at any second for any reason or for no reason. Which is exactly what happened.
Oscar Dela Hoya has not proven to be a man of his word, which doesn't make him worse than other promoters, but he's certainly no better. At the same time he was making this offer, he was also saying that if the Chavez fight is close, they may rematch. That shows how much that offer was actually worth.

^Exactly, which is why I rarely get involved in these types of discussions. And, when I do, I'm reserved about my opinions. We have posters here that literally claim to know what is involved in each contract and who is right/wrong because they read something on twitter. Baffles me how deluded those guys are.

The public perception and a handfull of trolls at a boxing forum are not the same thing.

The public remember Canelo calling GGG into the ring after he KO'd Kham, promising to fight him next, then relinquishing the WBC belt instead of keeping his word. Golovkin winning another belt to become the undisputed, unified MW champion won't erase that memory.

I'm not going to get into an argument about how far it spreads but I'm already seeing a general change in sentiment regarding these two. Dramatically different than it was just a couple months ago. It might be easier for me to see because I don't really have a dog in this fight and I don't think either of them are "ducking". IMO, it's a matter of teams positioning their investments.

I haven't seen a single article by a reputable boxing journalist anywhere saying that GGG is avoiding Canelo by not accepting some rumoured offer that nobody knows anything about except that it wasn't and isn't an offer to fight GGG next.
