No comparison at all to your grade example. The chasm between Marquez and Floyd in counter punching is clear as daylight. It is not 'arguable' or 'uncertain' or open to dispute. It is clear and huge. Marquez is inferior to Floyd, end of story.

I already agreed with you that Floyd is a level above. I admitted that Floyd occupies, by himself, his own tier at the very top when it comes to that aspect of the fight game.

Would you at least agree however that Marquez would be on the next tier down, right below Floyd? As far as counter punchers of that era is concerned?

Anyway, of course I know Marquez is a world class counter puncher, yes. Just coz I think he's inferior to Floyd don't mean I think he's weak or average (counter punching and overall ability).

Pac was great defensively. People forget Floyd missed many punches. Pac was unscathed. Pac landed the more telling blows. I think a draw from the first fight was realistic. Floyd wants no part of a rematch. He can't hit Manny.
