Well yeah technically, for example, a student could grade out at a 3.4 in GPA and still be technically "inferior" to a student who owns a 3.5 GPA...I'm not that smart but yes, I do understand the technical definition -- but within the context of sports, inferior is mostly used as a strong word.

When I think of inferior, in sports, I think of the Cleveland Browns in comparison to the New England Patriots. That's inferior. Or Rod Salka to Danny Garcia. **** like that. Is Floyd a greater counter puncher than JMM? Sure. I'll give you that. But Marquez is still one of the GREAT counter punchers of his generation.

No comparison at all to your grade example. The chasm between Marquez and Floyd in counter punching is clear as daylight. It is not 'arguable' or 'uncertain' or open to dispute. It is clear and huge. Marquez is inferior to Floyd, end of story.

Only in spades. Even the commentators were mentioning that he wasn't being his normal aggressive self. Pretty much everyone acknowledges this. Hell, he landed less punches against Jessie Vargas than he did Floyd, that should tell you everything.

Zzzzzzzzzzzz..........who cares. What's done is done. Mayweather beat Pacquiao. Cotto gave Mayweather a way better fight than both Pacquiao and Canelo did. Pacquiao is 38 now and clearly on the decline, Floyd is 40. They both need to retire very soon. Their time has passed now.
