I really like Ward as a boxer, but unless his passion for the sport is gone, he needs this rematch. The first time wasn't convincing. Draw at best. I don't think it goes to the judges next time either way.

Walked down and schooled? If you think that was "walking someone down" and a "schooling", then you honestly have no idea what a walk down or a schooling truly is.

It was a razor close fight. Really it was as close as a fight can possibly be. I went back and upon rewatch, yes, I could see how a judge could score it in favor of Ward 114-113. I would have also not had a problem with the cards going the other way, either. It was that close.

Some of y'all throw around these boxing terms & phrases way too loosely. Ward was NOT walking down Kovalev, lmao. And that was not a schooling. I love how nowadays all you have to do is basically win the fight and now it's a "schooling".

A schooling is basically a fighter who undresses his opponent from the opening bell for as long as it lasts. A schooling is when a fighter wins virtually every second of the fight. A schooling is Mayweather versus Canelo. THAT was a schooling.

And then wards best friend/former opponent comes out of retirement, swears revenge, trains extra hard in the mountains of Siberia and against all odds overcomes adversity to triumph against the Russian monster after his corner advise him to "hit the one in the middle". At the end even ***** stands to applaud, the Cold War is over.

Can't blame Kovalev, he was robbed in the first fight.. He was fighting Ward along with 3 blind/corrupt judges and a referee that didn't see any problem with ward holding and hitting throughout the fight. I also can see Ward's hesitation with a rematch, there has been so much talk of his holding in the first fight he won't be able to in the second and that's where he'll have a big problem. I still predict that Ward will stall, postpone and delay any rematch and retirement isn't out of the question. He won't get a gift twice

Too many people looking for controversy where there is none to be found. It was a close fight that could have gone either way, but you get posters on here claiming " everyone knows Kovalev won" which just says more about their own arrogance projecting their opinions on everyone else.
Boxing is a subjective sport, judges are sat in a fixed position and don't have the benefit of watching a fight from multiple camera angles to get the best view of the action.
We all have our favourite fighters who might come up short in a close fight but for christs sake can we stop all the whining about it and calling robbery or corruption everytime an outcome is debatable.
If you want to a proper robbery go watch Emmanuel Augustus v Courtney burton and then try compare that to some of the razor thin fights that have polarised fights on this board like canelo v Lara, Garcia v Peterson, groves v degale etc
