After he rematches Kovalev, if he should win, Beterbiev is the obvious next opponent.

Kov KO's Ward then GGG KO's Ward the Ward can retire knowing that he is NOT the best and be happy ever after!Comment

Like seriously. I don't remember anybody, Ward fan or critic, saying they wanted to see Ward fight Degale or the Dirrell or a rematch with Abraham or anybody else that had a belt at 68. The only fighters Ward's fans or critics were interested in seeing him fight were Kovalev and GGG. GGG would have been ideal. He was a bigger payday and likely an easier fight. But nobody wanted him to wait around beating up super middleweight beltholders hoping GGG would eventually fight him. All that mattered was a big fight. So if he had to move up and lose, so be it.Comment

Kov had his chance and couldn't pull it off. Ward adjusted after the knock down (didn't make the same mistake twice) and seemed comfortable taking Kov's shots during the second half of the fight. What makes you think Kov will be able to KO Ward in their rematch?Comment

Froch at 166 actuallyKeep dreaming Virgil, Ward is the last fighter GGG should be fighting. A Jacobs rematch is dangerous right now, so why in the world would he move up in weight to take on an elite fighter when he can make paydays against weaker opposition?
Remember, Jacobs is good, Ward is great, and based on last Saturday night, I would not make GGG an overwhelming favorite over Canelo either.
GGG is going to keep seeking out easier challenges, all that BS about 154-168 is not real, He would fight Chavez Jr and Froch at 168 but not Andre Ward, and after Jacobs performance, we now know why.
He is not overhyped, it's more he is protected, his handlers keep him away from fighters that truly can test him, including Canelo, because GGG made just over 2.5 million bucks considering the PPV bombed, so he isn't in a position to be demanding even $7 million right now.Comment
