well in the U.S. the most passionate and dedicated boxing fans are Hispanic (mainly Mexican and Puerto Rican). that's the only reason Canelo is the bigger "star".

if GGG was Mexican he would have a statue in that country already.

using PPV numbers to not make the fight is punk ****.

I guarantee that if GGG fights Zurdo at 168 on PPV his PPV numbers will skyrocket.

Floyd and Pacquiao didn't do **** on PPV until they faced a big Mexican star (Oscar).

that's the curse of being non-Hispanic boxer in the U.S.

this is why GGG wears Mexican sombreros, eats at Mexican restaurants and calls his style Mexican style.. all that to appeal to that market.

if Canelo was from Kazakhstan he wouldn't be doing **** on PPV.

any fan that supports this fight being stalled further over PPV numbers is not a fan of boxing but a groupie.

65/35 in Canelo's favor seems about right to me.
Not how it works buddy. GGG-Jacobs was supposedly an intriguing matchup. Canelo-Smith was a joke. I would say Canelo-Lara, maybe even Canelo-Khan were more in lone with GGG-Jacobs.

GGG isn't a mega star but nobody outside of Canelo can do more than 200k in PPV. Maybe Pacquiao I guess but if he goes through with Horn that'll do some David Diaz numbers.

If Canelo was from Kazakhstan, he would never have gotten a fight with Floyd and would be at Lara's level of popularity

Is this really a question? Canelo by being Mexican has a built in fanbase that is 36 million strong in the USA alone. On top of that,he's being backed by one of Mexico's legends "the golden boy" delahoya. Throw into the equation the fact that he had his breakthrough fight against mayweather, and you have yourself a ppv star. Now on golovkins side we have a goofy looking guy from a country that most people wouldn't be able to point out on a map,who had to climb his way up from obscurity with his fan friendly style. Sergio Martinez never gave him his breakout fight, neither did cotto or Chavez jr. Now the world waits on canelo-chavez jr to be done with,so we can finally get canelo-ggg,and all we have is delacokehead talking about ppv numbers, and how golovkin shouldn't fight in June, and should just sit on the shelf for 6 months.

that is what most folks were arguing

before the Golovkin/Jacobs fight, that is

the Golovkin/Jacobs figures PROVE that aint happening
