I think it's more of the new owners trying to make the money spent as fast as they can. The drug testing is just a plus in my opinion. I rather see super Super Vítor than the vitor we got. But that's a subject for another time.

Some fighters earn their way to the top of the PPV mountain by the way they win and how entertaining they are, fighters like Tyson, De La Hoya, Pacquiao, and Cotto, while others need to latch on to the star of other fighters in order to get their place on the mountain--those are the Mayweather, Marquez, and Alvarez variety. They needed other big names on the card in order to sell fights. There are more Mexican fight fans in North America than Ukrainian and Russian, so logically Canelo will have a larger fan base here. GGG has yet to have that big name opponent to put him into the mainstream the way Floyd had De La Hoya and Marquez had Pacquiao.

People bought his fights because they wanted to see him lose. There is an added sense of drama surrounding his fights because they want him to lose. Problem is, they've been duped into thinking overrated no-hopers like Ortiz, Guerrero, Maidana and Berto were going to get it done.
