Neither Golovkin nor Ward are #1.

    Kovalev is the true king.

after Ward/Kovalev the outrage was you can't name Ward p4p #1 because the outcome was debatable. GGG wins a debatable decision and gets #1 spot against an opponent not even in p4p discussion.

let's be consistent. if close fights can't decide p4p #1 then neither Ward nor GGG should be there. keeping this same logic Gonzalez should not be knocked off since many felt he actually won.

so to settle this we have to judge quality of opponents.

      Rungvisai (unknown, padded record, losses)
Jacobs (second best in a weak division. never mentioned in p4p discussion, been ko'd.)
Kovalev (top five p4p, prime, feared, ducked and undefeated.)

its a no brainer who #1 is then if we're disregarding debatable decisions.

      Andre Ward is top dog.

        I agree.
Golovkin doesn't belong on any P4P list.

            Yeah GGG no1 or kov.
Jacobs is better then people think and GGG won comfortably.

Just like PAC beat morales, Barrera and jmm but still weren't considered pFP no1.
Citing jmm wasn't rated at the time PAC beat jmm? Well jmm was underated then. He didn t suddenly become good when fighting PAC. Jacobs has koed his last 13 .

Fuck the both of 'em. Ward is a **** who was lucky to get the decision against Kovalev and Golovkin is overhyped.

The Kovalev/Ward decision was a lot more debatable than GGG's win over Jacobs.

I watched both fights live and I was truly shocked when Ward got the decision over Kovalev. At the end of the fight, sitting there waiting for Krusher to have his hand raised, and I heard those words .. "And the new .." my immediated gut reaction was astonishment and disbelief.

At the end of GGG/Jacobs, I really didn't have any idea who was going to get their hand raised. A couple of days later I watched the fight again and kept a round by round score. I gave them 6 rounds each and GGG got an extra point for the KD.

I'm surprised they don't have Lebron James or Lavar Ball on the list
