    Golden boys new GGG deal

Does anybody else think that oscars new percentage instead of cash deal is a direct consequence of last weekends fight between ggg and jacobs and his recognition that the ppv model post may/pac is almost dead? Im trying to think of the number of "mega fights" left for the casual boxing fan to buy into...and its a pretty barren plain. There is of course canelo/ggg...but that is losing lustre due to all of the politics surrounding it...and ward/kovalev 2...but again...all the posturing and posing around that means it gets lost from the front pages. Joshua/Klit is intriguing...but unless Klit wins then its a bunch of mediocre fights and splintered belts between has beens and wannabees. This is boxings legacy of the last decade...business over sport and money over glory. Todays social media society wants the instant...history has no relevance...and fighters have become the same. The so called stars are so spoilt and pampered that when the money runs dry...we will have no more real sport because just as Linda Evangelista wouldnt get out of bed for less than 10 grand a day...the top fighters of today wont even think about stepping in the ring for less than 3 grand a minute...and the return just simply is no longer there.

Not sure where you're drawing this "Golden Boy is offering a percentage instead of just the fee" from, but source or stfu, to be blunt.

Alvarez has seemingly given Golden Boy the leeway to make an offer, and that number is apparently for more that $10m. Alvarez isn't sharing his Mexico TV money, Alvarez isn't sharing his sponsorship money, and I doubt that Alvarez is even going to share the Tecate money, among other revenue streams.

The "talks" can continue, but I doubt that much has changed from what Alvarez has authorized Golden Boy to offer. K2 can get the German/Russia/Kazakh/EU TV rights to shop, can get a mat sponsor for the actual event, and even an allotment of tickets on the gate, but I doubt that the total worth of the package goes beyond what's been already offered.

Golden Boy said yesterday that they are changing the offer to a % split.

Oscar said it. OP is trying to blame everyone BUT Golovkin but Oscar said he didn't like the idea of guaranteeing Golovkin 15m anymore, in case the PPV underperforms. Canelo did big numbers with Cotto in the "post May/Pac" environment and if the 300k figure is correct, he did great numbers against an unknown in Smith too. Golovkin can't seem to draw. That's no attack on the guy though.

I don't believe the $15M rumored offer was ever legit (the clear B side for a PPV that might not even do 1.5M buys getting $15M/GTS is insanity) so I see this new news as being the best real chance for the fight to be made thus far.

That said I think Oscar is still heavily spin controlling this situation and mentioning other names for September still has me thinking this fight won't happen til next year when GGG has turned 36 and gotten just a lil older and Canelo has gotten a lil better.

The 15 million offer from Oscar was an absolute lie. He had the opportunity to back it up on his appearance on that ESPN show you all go on about with Kellerman but he did not, a tany time, mention 15 million. When he got called out for not making the biggest fight available, he said the fight would definitely happen. Yet no mention, at all, on national tv, on what I assume is a popular sports show in the US, about this massive offer.

Why, after weeks of him claiming such an offer was on the table, did he not mention it on the biggest platform afforded to him? He could have shown eidence too and ****, the ball is in GGGs court. But none of that happened.

Canelo may want the fight but GBP and co will not let it happen yet. Instead, they move Canelo to super middleweight.

Oscar said several times on that show that they have made him a 'massive' offer that is 'more than fair'.

Loeffler never denied it, he confirmed that an offer was on the table.

All he had to say was "15 million" and he didn't, on the biggest platform offered to him yet he has spent month fuelling internet trolls. That is not the isgn of a genuine offer. I dont even remember him using the word "massiver offer" but that could mean anything.

Also, when has Loeffer or whatever the **** his name is, said that the 15 million dollar offer was on the table? Source it.

That's the point, neither side have said anything exact.

Loeffler has been asked about the $15million offer and just said 'there's been an offer', as has Oscar. To put the blame entirely on one seems a tad strange.
