UK vs USA PPV pricing - let's make the adjustments

Let's say a UK PPV bout does 500k and it sells for $18 USD...

But in the states, a mega fight will be around $65 bucks. So if we adjust the ratio...however keep in mind the dynamic's differ as regional or house fighters will effect the result) therefore:

    18 × 3.6 = about $65.

    500k ÷ 3.6 = 139k PPV to USA based probable buyers.

since we like comparing PPV prices from bout to bout

Any better formulas and variance is highly appreciated

Is that what the UK charges for their PPVs? I wish it were like that over here

I think the Brook vs GGG bout was 15 quid. They are a bit limited in segments and they have to commentate their own stuff, so they don't benefit from Roy Jones jr. at best...not like theyre missing out on Lampley or Kellerman. They probably don't get the HD stream either since it's a fixed rate. The SD stream is good enough as its upscaled to their sets even if watchers have HD or 4K sets. They get a good stream nonetheless.

When PPV offers 4K streams as a standard then the 65 bucks Imo is justified. Would love to watch 4K slowo replays in crisp resolution.

I think you have to take into account subscription fees, think why our PPVs are cheaper, just to be able to pay for a PPV you already have to have a minimum £36.50 a month Sky package, Google says HBO costs $15 a month subscription. But I have basic knowledge of US subscriptions, anyone enlighten me to the case?

Every PPV is in HD, and we get all the undercard fights. It's not a stream, its satellite the same as your cable or whatever.

We also have Sky Sports and BT Sports available in 4K, it's like you guys think the UK is a backwater or something

PPV's here are £16.95, Floyd-Pac was the most expensive ever at £19.95.

Some fights (GGG-Jacobs for instance) are on BoxNation, that channel is £12 for a whole month or free with a subscription to a satellite channel package.

If PPV's were the equivalent of $65 here, the companies would be lucky to do 3,000 buys. We already pay for channel packages, anything from £20-£70 or so per month depending on the package.

That's about right.. Showtime subscription is also 15$ but part of a different package.. So only fights on CBS, FOX & Spike are free.. HBO/Showtime you've got to pay 15$/month as subscription fees..

Think I pay at least £120 a month for Sky and Boxnation, if Sky started charging £50 aswell for a PPV thered be uproar

That sounds about right. There are various cable providers in the states with those premium channel options which can cost from $50-150. I have friends that pay even more that includes Internet a month with a 1TB quota at super blazing speeds. I meant stream as in the feed. And of course if HBO is broadcastin from the UK we outsource to your providers and satellites, so if anything the states gets the second for UK based bout.

But again keep in mind you will have Americans paying HBO subscription (included), the $65 dollar PPV bout and the general cable provider''s monthly fee from $50-150+

You don't need a sky package to order PPV.

                    How?

Sky and Hearn aint no saints they aint charging £15 to do the public a favour, if they could charge £50 they would, just £15 is how far they could push the public, though Joshua/Klitschko is £20, guess theyre gunna start testing how far they can push it
