Former world title contender Lucas Matthysse (37-4, 34 KOs) is hard at work training in Argentina in preparation for his comeback fight against Emmanuel Taylor (20-4, 14 KOs) which takes place on May 6. The bout is on the undercard of the huge clash between Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

If someone at Golden Boy other than Oscar is saying it, it just might be true.

Hate to be a party ****** but Lucas is done. He'll prolly win a few fights against b-c level guys but being a top contender again is out of reach.

I hope Diaz is right. Lucas needs a fresh start and I think Joel Diaz is what he needs.

Having said that we have seen recently fighters who have changed corners and weights have not succeeded.

          Hopefully Lucas changes that trend.

Mattyse is still one of my favorite fighters , he always bein that energy/spark to the ring, I hope he knocks out Emmanuel Taylor out it's not gonna be easy for him but he's gonna get the win!!!!!

I wish Lucas had did this YEARS ago, but hopefully there's still some thing left in the tank for him to make one more exciting run (though I'm not sure because it seemed to be more a mental than physical breakdown for Lucas so that's the big question mark). Taylor should not be overlooked and if Taylor were to beat Lucas at this stage it wouldn't be a big shock to me. Looking forward to see what Lucas can still do.

He's always gonna have that orbital bone structure problem. It's happened in 3 fights now.

And he's the kind of fighter who won't fight through it. He should beat Taylor though, wouldn't mind seeing a Peterson rematch
